Announced back in 2020, fans have been eagerly awaiting the latest news on the Disney+ adaptation of the beloved fantasy novels Percy Jackson and the Olympians. In a significant new update, it appears the upcoming series has found its Percy – The Adam Project star, Walker Scobell.
The project is based on the incredibly popular novels by award-winning author Rick Riordan, who originally announced the series' development on the Disney+ social media channels. In a statement on his website, Riordan said: "Walker Scobell is an incredibly talented young man who blew us away with his audition tapes for the role of Percy."
In a press release, Disney stated that the series "tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who's just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus."

Who is actor Walker Scobell?
Walker Scobell was born in 2009, making him (at the time of writing) just thirteen years old. According to his IMDB biography, Walker was born into a military family. This meant that he travelled extensively, living all over the United States, including to the sunny west coast in California and the mountain ranges of Colorado.
He is reported to be a big fan of superhero movies, including Deadpool and Avengers: Endgame, and spends his time off taking part in extreme sports like parkour, snowboarding and skateboarding (as you can see on his Instagram page ).
Despite being so young, his acting career appears to be going from strength to strength. He recently starred in his break-out role as Young Adam alongside Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds (Red Notice, Free Guy), in the sci-fi comedy The Adam Project.
He is also set to star alongside Owen Wilson and Michael Peña in a film called Secret Headquarters, which is due to come out later in 2022. The film reportedly sees a young boy discover a secret HQ underneath his home that leads him to believe his estranged father isn't all he appears to be.
While we don't have a release date for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, it's unlikely to be seen until 2023.
