Love Island contestant Jacques O’Neill has quit the show following the return of season four’s Adam Collard–who seemed keen to get to know Jacques’ partner Paige Thorne.
As shocking as Jacques’ departure is, he is far from the first islander to leave the show–and isn’t even the first to leave of his own accord.
Numerous recouplings and dumpings have seen hopefuls looking for love left packing their bags and heading back to the UK.
So who has left Love Island and how did they leave?
Liam Llewellyn
Liam Llewellyn was the first islander to leave this season. He left of his own accord after feeling like he wasn’t being himself.
Ikenna Ekwonna and Amber Beckford
Ikenna Ekwonna and Amber Beckford were dumped from the island together after receiving the fewest votes from the public.
Although the islanders were sad to see them go, their dumping allowed Dami Hope and Indiyah Pollack to get to know each other.
Remi Lambert
Remi Lambert was dumped in a shocking recoupling which saw Danica Taylor choose to couple up with Luca Bish, leaving Gemma Owen to couple up with Davide Sanclimenti.
Remi was not chosen to be in a couple, so was dumped from the island.
Afia Tonkmore
Afia Tonkmore was dumped from the island after then-new boy Jacques O’Neill chose to recouple with Paige Thorne.
Antigoni Buxton and Charlie Radnedge
Antigoni Buxton and Charlie Radnedge were chosen by the boys and girls respectively to leave the island, after they were among the contestants with the fewest votes from the public.
Casa Amor’s bombshells
Six Casa Amor bombshells–three men and three women–didn’t make it to the main villa.
Jack Keating, George Tasker, Samuel Agbiji, Jazmine Nichol, Mollie Salmon, and Cheyanne Kerr were dumped from the island after not being chosen to be in a couple.
Jay Younger and Chyna Mills
The islanders chose to send home Jay Younger and Chyna Mills in order to keep Dami Hope and Summer Botwe.
They reckoned that by keeping Dami in the villa, he could continue to explore things with Indiyah. Plus, Jay and Chyna had already decided to just be friends before they were dumped.
Jacques O’Neill
Jacques O’Neill quit Love Island, a day after Adam Collard entered the villa and made a move on Paige Thorne. The run-up to Jacques’ exit will be aired in Tuesday night’s show.
