Who could replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister decides to step down

Boris Johnson's time as Prime Minister has come to an end after a number of months of scandal.

A leadership contest will now be triggered to find a replacement for Johnson who says he wants to continue as caretaker until October.

A No 10 source said Johnson spoke to Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the Conservative 1922 Committee, to inform him of his decision.
