Shamrock Rovers could face a near 8,000km round trip to Georgia in the Champions League when the draw is made in Nyon tomorrow morning.
Despite being seeded in the first qualifying round, the Hoops have landed in a tricky pot, which also includes sides from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Poland, Malta and North Macedonia.
Stephen Bradley’s men will find out the identity of their opponents when the draw kicks off at 11am Irish time in UEFA HQ.
The unseeded teams in Rovers’ pot are Zrinjski (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Lech Poznań (Poland), Hibernians (Malta), Shkupi (North Macedonia) and Dinamo Batumi (Georgia).
In the Europa Conference League, unseeded Sligo Rovers will face one of Bala Town (Wales), Breidablik (Iceland), Europa (Gibraltar), DAC Dunajská Streda (Slovakia) or Fola Esch (Luxembourg).
Derry City will be paired with Flora Tallinn (Estonia), Pogoń Szczecin (Poland), Crusaders (Northern Ireland), HB Tórshavn (Faroe Islands) or Riga FC (Latvia).
FAI Cup winners St Patrick’s Athletic enter the Conference League in the second qualifying round. They will discover their potential opponents when that draw is made on Wednesday.
The dates for the Champions League first round ties are July 5 and 6 (first-leg) and July 12 and 13 (second leg).
Sligo and Derry will kick off their European campaigns on July 7, with their second legs on July 14.
