White House ‘strikes back’ at Iran with its newfound taste for being beyond cringey

Shortly after an unusual Iranian video, shared online, showed world leaders like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu in Lego-style animation, the White House shared a partially-animated bowling video on X, showing bowling pins labeled as “Iranian regime officials.”

Bowling pins and “Free Bird”

The roughly 34-second clip begins with an ESPN segment featuring pro bowling legend Pete Weber’s viral “Who do you think you are?” moment from 2012. As Weber throws what would be his now-famous strike, the footage shifts to an animation of bowling pins in desert scenery. The pins are then seen in a bowling alley under a banner reading “Iranian regime officials.”

A bowling ball appears as Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” plays in the background. The scene then shifts to real footage of the recent U.S.-Israeli strikes in the country.

The Iranian Lego animation

The White House did not explicitly say that the post is a response to the Iranian Lego animation, shared by Iranian state media outlets, including the Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

As well as Trump and Netanyahu, the Lego animation shows a devil figure and a folder labeled “Jeffrey Epstein File.” The animated Trump character presses a large red button that launches a missile striking a girls’ school in the Iranian city of Minab, referring to a deadly real-world strike that Iranian officials blame on the United States and Israel.

The clip then portrays Iranian forces retaliating with missile attacks against targets including Tel Aviv, U.S. ships, and Western military installations in the region, presenting the sequence as a narrative of revenge for the school attack.

Multiple outlets reported that when asked about the clip, the administration declined to comment publicly on it. Response to the Trump administration bowling post was mixed, with some noting, “White house is aura farming now, i’m all for it.”

Others added, “Videos like this will one day be shown in history classes, detailing the embarrassing AI slop war propaganda shoved down our throats,” and, “Can’t imagine the response if Biden had spent this kind of time and money posting cartoons publicly and making a mockery of their own office while losing a military conflict and blowing billions.”

The Iran war situation

Israel and the United States remain engaged in an active war with Iran that began on February 28 with coordinated air and missile strikes on Iranian military and leadership targets, including the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader.

Iran has responded with waves of missile and drone attacks against Israel, U.S. forces, and regional bases, while allied militias such as Hezbollah have fired rockets from Lebanon.

The conflict has disrupted the Strait of Hormuz, spiked global oil prices, and caused significant civilian casualties and displacement. Global powers, including Russia and the U.N., are calling for de‑escalation amid mounting humanitarian and economic fallout.

At a rally on March 11, Trump declared that the U.S. has effectively weakened Iran’s military and stated, “We won” while warning that U.S. forces may remain to “finish the job” and prevent a resurgence of hostilities.
