White House Melts Down Over Photos of Trump's Close Aide Natalie Harp on Ireland Trip

Trump's White House spent the weekend attacking a reporter over one photo. Aaron Rupar had shared a picture on X of Natalie Harp, the assistant who travels at the president's side, after she flew to Dublin with him. The caption said only that Harp had made the trip. Rapid Response 47, the White House's own account, called Rupar a 'sick, deluded freak'.

The anger skipped the question underneath it. Five days earlier, White House forms showed Donald Trump had given Harp a $45,000 cash gift (about £34,000). Her pay for the year is $150,000 (about £113,000), paid by US taxpayers. Lawyers who have run ethics inside the building are split on whether the gift was legal.
