Tributes have been paid to a "legend" Scots dad who has sadly died over a year after surviving a gas blast at his home.
Bill Maz was rushed to hospital after the explosion on Dixon Road in Whitburn, West Lothian on Tuesday December 8 2020.
Bill, in his late fifties, was taken to the burns unit of St John's Hospital in Livingston for treatment.
The "Whitburn legend" has now died over a year after the horror incident.
It is unclear if his death is related to the blast with tributes paid online from Tuesday evening.
Sending her thoughts to his family, Lauren Campbell said: "Thinking of the Mazs family.
"Rip Bill Mazs. You where an absolute legend."
Jamie Starrs added: " R.I.P Bill Mazs you truly were a Whitburn legend man! You'll be sadly missed."
Elise Gourdie wrote: " Rip Bill Mazs you were a good soul who will be missed by so many. Thinking of all your loved ones."
And Mandy Simpson posted: " RIP Bill Mazs another one taken to soon. Sending my prayers and condolences to your family at this hard time x"
Nearly £2,000 was raised to help Bill get back on his feet following the horrific explosion as loved ones wished him a speedy recovery.
Emergency services descended on the area after the incident and another man was also treated for injuries at the scene.
Cops evacuated a neighbouring house as a precaution and later confirmed a 58-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an explosion at a house in Dixon Road, Whitburn on Tuesday, 8 December, 2020.
“He was due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday, 21 December, 2020.”
