Trooping the Colour is one of the biggest events in the royal calendar, with over a thousand soldiers carrying out a spectacular display of military precision in front of the monarch.
Members of the royal family usually tend to make an appearance for the event, either in carriages or like King Charles III's chosen form of transport this year, on horseback.
The annual event, which falls every June, is a celebration that takes place to honour the official birthday of the British monarch, which is a royal tradition that has been ongoing since 1760.
Following the annual military parade, the King is set to be joined on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside other senior members of the royal family with the Coronation balcony appearance believed to be a blueprint for who will be stepping out again on Saturday, the Express reports.
Here we take a closer look into which royals are likely to be appearing on the balcony on June 17 and which aren't.
Who is set to appear on the balcony?
King Charles III and Queen Camilla are two people we can definitely count on being on the balcony to wave to the crowds below.
They are likely to be joined by other senior members of the royal family with the Coronation last month holding a huge clue as to who might appear alongside them.
These people are thought to be the Prince and Princess of Wales, who are the most senior royal couple after His Majesty and Camilla.
It's also believed that the future King and Queen's children Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8 and five-year-old Prince Louis will join them.
The three royals siblings are often dubbed as the future of the monarchy and even at their young age they have many impressive royal appearances under their belt.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are also expected to be there with their two teenage children Lady Louis and James, Earl of Wessex.
Prince Edward and Sophie's royal presence has grown significantly over the past few years so their appearance is expected.
James and Louise are also likely to be joining their parents on the balcony seeing as they both stepped out on May 6 for the King's Coronation.
Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence are also among the senior royals that will probably join them along with Princess Alexandra of Kent, the Duke of Kent and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester who are also all working royals.
This Saturday will be King Charles' first ever Trooping the Colour parade as the British monarch, making it an even more special event than usual.
Who won't appear on Saturday?
Although nothing is confirmed, it's expected that Prince Andrew will not appear at this year's event as he is no longer a senior working royal and was not invited to the balcony for the Queen's final Trooping the Colour parade either.
Her Majesty's disgraced son was snubbed from the most important event at the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in June last year so it's believed this year will be no different.
Prince Andrew previously held the prestigious title of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards and previously carried out an important role at the military parade which he was later stripped of along with some of his other titles.
The 63-year-old is also not expected to appear at this year's Order of the Garter Day procession at Windsor Castle on June 19.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also not likely to be in attendance of the King's birthday parade this Saturday as similarly to Andrew, they are no longer senior working royals.
The Duke and Duchess now reside in the States having stepped down from the Firm in 2020 and have only attended a scattered amount of royal events since.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice snub
Not only will Prince Andrew miss out on a balcony appearance but it seems his two daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, will too.
Last year, it was confirmed that only senior working royal family members would be invited to appear on the balcony for Trooping the Colour which occurred at the start of the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson told reporters ahead of the event: "After careful consideration, The Queen has decided this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2nd June will be limited to Her Majesty and those Members of the Royal Family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of The Queen."
As it's likely that this will remain the case for Charles' birthday parade this year, it's believed that Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall will all miss out yet again on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony appearance.
