The 49ers haven’t been active in the trade market through the first two days of the draft. A possible Deebo Samuel trade fell through, leaving them without a first-round pick. Then on Day 2 they stood pat with their trio of selections.
Here’s what their draft board looks like after Day 2 and heading into the third and final day of the draft:
Round 2, Pick 61: DE Drake Jackson, USC
Round 3, Pick 93: RB Tyrion Davis-Price, LSU
Round 3, Pick 105 (compensatory): WR Danny Gray, SMU
Round 4, Pick 134
Round 5, Pick 172
Round 6, Pick 187 (via Denver)
Round 6, Pick 220 (compensatory)
Round 6, Pick 221 (compensatory)
Round 7, Pick 262 (compensatory)
Day 3 will include Rounds 4-7, and it’s hard to imagine San Francisco continues hanging around with their six picks. They have plenty of ammo to slide up in the fourth or fifth rounds if they see a player they like.
While Jackson and Gray both hit a couple needs, there are still plenty of spots on their roster that could use some additional depth. Cornerback, safety and offensive line all come to mind as spots that could be addressed with those final selections.
