France has the highest number of time zones of any country in the world, with a total of 12 time zones. This includes both the mainland as well as the overseas French territories, which are located in different parts of the world.

While the mainland of France uses Central European Time, which is equivalent to UTC+1, the overseas French territories are located in different parts of the world, including the Caribbean, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, as well as near South America.
