Just five games remain in Bristol Rovers' season and everything is on the line as the promotion race comes down to the wire. Joey Barton's side are sixth in League Two, with several clubs eager to snatch their play-off place, but the Gas have not given up on their hopes of automatic promotion, either.
For so long, Rovers were the hunters in pursuit of a place in the top seven, but they have proven to be a relentless force so far in 2022, losing just three games in a remarkable transformation of their form that has left their future firmly in their hands.
The Gas are predicted to finish the season in fifth place with 75 points, according to the model created by analytics experts FiveThirtyEight, which also concludes Rovers have a 57 per cent chance of making the play-offs. Meanwhile, the bookmakers have Barton's side seventh-favourites to claim one of the four promotion places once the season is done.
But with games against immediate rivals Salford City and Port Vale next up, the Gas have the chance to shape their destiny.
