30th Anniversary PS5 pre-orders live: all the latest stock updates as they happen

30th Anniversary Edition PS5 Slim on a blue background with pre-order badge.

We've only got a few retailer options left for those hunting down PS5 30th Anniversary pre-orders right now. While the standard PS5 Pro is seeing a healthy supply across the US and UK, those special edition consoles are difficult to get your hands on right now. GameStop is restocking hourly until 3pm ET or when stock runs out, but we've also seen late-day success at Walmart for Plus members as well.

My advice right now? Keep an eye on GameStop on the hour and keep pushing on Walmart's pre-order button when it loads.

PS5 30th Anniversary pre-orders have sold exceedingly fast today, across both the US and UK. As far as we're aware right now, this is the only chance shoppers have to secure their consoles - though more stock could go live on release day (November 21). Target kicked things off for us this morning with a 3am drop, but it's been GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart leading the charge. Amazon is suspiciously silent, having only dropped the standard edition PS5 Pro.

I was there when the original console launched all those years ago, wading through websites on the hunt for early pre-order stock. That means I know a thing or two about securing hard-to-find gadgets (I'm pretty sure I was one of the first to actually get their PS5 pre-order over the line when they unexpectedly went live early following the system's reveal). I'm sharing all that experience with you right here, rounding up the retailers you should hit first and what to do if stock seems to have dried up.

If you're after the full collection of accessories, I'm also rounding up the full PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection pre-order selection as well.

Check 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim stock in the UK

Well hello there! I'm signing on to get you prepped for all of tomorrow's 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim pre-orders while we've still got a good few hours to wait. That means I'll be going through each retailer you should be keeping tabs on over the next 24 hours and bringing you any new updates as they emerge. That means you can sit tight and let me do the digital running around.

Let's start with where we find ourselves right now

Sony launched its own PS5 30th Anniversary pre-orders on September 16 but everything barring the DualSense controller was exclusive to the brand's own site. Tomorrow's stock drop will be wider retailers' (think Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart etc.) first chance to launch their own listings. Right now, everything is sold out at the official PS Direct store and these gadgets sold fast. Tomorrow could be your last big chance to grab a retro colorway.

About Walmart

Walmart was one of the very first retailers to launch their own listing pages for the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition, so naturally I'm excited about this store. However, it's worth noting that you'll need to be a Walmart Plus member to have access to this drop, with the doors opening to subscribers from 10am ET tomorrow.

Walmart Plus is a paid membership coming in at $98 per year, but if you're concerned about losing out on stock it's worth the jump. You're also getting free delivery on a range of products, exclusive access to early deals, Paramount Plus, and discounts on Burger King.

There is a 30 day free trial available but be warned, this will not grant you access to early PS5 30th Anniversary pre-orders. The site states that "Walmart Plus paid members can pre-order" so there's no getting around that fee.

This play is one I've seen before. It's a mirror image of how Walmart handled the original PS5 stock drama.

But what about Best Buy?

Best Buy also has a listing page live on its site, and it doesn't look like you need to be a paid member of anything. That means things are going to be even more competitive here, though, with stock potentially selling out much faster. The retailer has also just updated their listing to remind customers that they'll need to be signed into their Best Buy accounts to purchase, so it's well worth doing this today and making sure you select the 'always signed in' option to avoid any slow downs tomorrow.

And then there's Amazon...

Amazon can be sneaky with its listing pages, sometimes keeping them obscured from its main search results with obscure URLs and other strange text. That means it's difficult to pinpoint exactly where stock is going to land ahead of time. During the PS5 stock rush I even saw the site hiding its stock behind its third party seller scheme, it was still Amazon selling but in order to evade bots it would send you through the marketplace first.

You've got two options; you can keep checking a specific search term on the site or you can camp on the main PS5 Slim product page. The former might see you through to those first few stock waves if Amazon lists the 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim as a separate device entirely. Meanwhile, the latter gives you a shot at early stock if the retailers simply adds it as an alternative colorway to the standard system.

At the moment, I would recommend the latter. The standard system has a drop down box listed under 'Style' which currently houses a range of bundle options - I'm willing to bet this is where the 30th Anniversary model will show up when it drops tomorrow.

What about UK shoppers?

If you're in the UK, I'd recommend checking out two retailers first and foremost; Amazon and Very.

Very is actually often one of the fastest shops out the gate when it comes to pre-orders. I found the PS5 in stock incredibly frequently here when the console first launched - and even started using the site as a benchmark as to whether other stores were going to drop their own stock soon. What's more, this is a fantastic way to get around resellers. If you've got a little extra cash to spend I often see Very offering bundles. There's no cash off the accessories included, but the higher price keeps resellers away and means those units hold their positions on the shelves a lot longer.

Amazon is my second pick right now, because it was so fast out the gate with DualSense pre-orders last month. This was the first (and one of the only) sites to launch their own 30th Anniversary Edition stock back in September, so the machine is clearly working here.

I've just had a scout for more retailers and noticed something concerning

There are already a lot of reseller listings for the 30th Anniversary Collection. I'm not just talking the PS5 Pro bundles that sold out in seconds two weeks ago, but everything down to the DualSense controller. I hope it goes without saying, but it's not worth diving into these listings. You don't need to spend $140 on a limited edition controller when more stock will likely hit the shelves tomorrow, and the PS5 Slim hasn't even seen its wider release yet.

PSA: I think Target has removed its listing

I was previously seeing a live listing page for the 30th Anniversary console at Target, but it seems to have vanished off the face of the web. It's also no longer appearing in Google's own Shopping results, which is certainly fishy. The special edition console was previously accessible (though obviously not order-able) via a simple search page, but now Target seems to be prioritizing the standard edition console. I'll keep searching and keep you updated.

How much is the 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim?

Before we get into the madness of stock hunting, it's well worth covering the actual price of the PS5 Slim bundle - not least because resellers are going to move quickly and could well be asking for well over MSRP. The full bundle costs $499.99 / £439.99 - an extra $50 / £50 compared to the standard $449.99 / £389.99 price of the Digital console.

PSA: I would buy the PS5 disc drive well ahead of tomorrow

Best Buy currently has the $79.99 PS5 disc drive in stock and on the shelves. That's a rarity in itself, but it's going to be even harder to find when tomorrow's pre-orders drop. If you're locked into picking up the 30th Anniversary console tomorrow and you want to play physical games, I'd recommend grabbing this one ahead of time. I'm not confident this supply will last until tomorrow morning, let alone once everyone's on the hunt for one.

UK pre-order hunters: don't ignore Argos!

It's not normally at the top of my list when looking for deals, but Argos really can come in handy if you're stock hunting. That's because the retailer organizes its supply based on your post code, so you've got a much smaller pool of competitors snapping up stock. Load up your information ahead of time so that you can quickly see availability in your local area when the time comes tomorrow.

I'm not surprised Amazon hasn't got a listing page yet

It's very typical of the retailer, and by no means a reason to discount it as a viable stock option. Even during last month's drop of the DualSense controller, Amazon seemed to take everyone by surprise in actually offering the gamepad. While I do recall a listing page being available for the original PS5 console during the early days of stock hunting, it only appeared once the first wave of stock had been supplied. That's all to say, keep a close eye here over the next 24 hours, things can spring out of nowhere in Bezos land.

Getting prepped: Sign into your accounts

I mentioned this a little earlier for Best Buy and Walmart Plus customers, but it's well worth signing into accounts for all your usual retailers - or even creating one for stores you don't visit too often. Not only are you covered for any last-minute account requirements tomorrow, but you'll also be able to head through checkout much quicker. Believe it or not, fast-moving items aren't yours until your payment page is finished - things can still jump out of your cart during that rush through checkout. Anything you can do to speed up that process is going to work heavily your favor.

What's included in the PS5 Slim bundle?

If you're grabbing a new console tomorrow, you'll be glad to know it's not just the device itself you're buying. The special edition PS5 Slim comes with a whole host of extras, including the retro DualSense. The full list is below:

  • PS5 Digital Edition console
  • DualSense controller
  • Disc drive console cover
  • Vertical stand
  • Retro cable connector housing
  • PlayStation shapes cable ties
  • Sticker
  • Poster
  • Paperclip

Personally, it's the paperclip that's doing it for me.

Getting prepped: save your payment information

I was talking a little earlier about how important it is to sail through checkout. Another way you can get your cart through as quickly as possible is by saving your payment information ahead of time. There's nothing worse than reading off the back of a card when the clock is ticking, but most retailers will allow you to get all your info written in beforehand.

When will 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim pre-orders go live?

That we can't quite say. The only retailer to have listed a start time for their stock drop is Walmart, and that's an early doors offer for its Walmart Plus members at 10am ET. However, we do know that Sony's own pre-orders went live at 10am ET and 8am BST back in September, so I would expect a similar turnaround this time.

That's not to say you should rock up at 10am / 8am on the dot. In fact, I would recommend loading up your pages around an hour to two hours in advance - just to make sure you've got a good base to work with when refreshing. When the clock strikes there's going to be a sudden surge of interest, one that has brought sites completely down in the past. You want to be in the best possible position to break through the gates.

What else is on sale tomorrow?

There's actually a whole roster of peripherals taking on PlayStation's retro theming for its anniversary - and hopefully they will all be taking to the shelves tomorrow. Like the PS5 Slim, the DualSense Edge controller and PlayStation Portal were Sony exclusives when they first went up for pre-order last month but will be back on the shelves this week. You'll find a full price list below:

Will there be any midnight stock?

There's always a lingering fear that retailers will launch their pre-order stock as soon as the clock strikes 12. While it might be worth sticking around until midnight officially rolls around (I wouldn't be surprised if there were some early stock drops), the real hunt will begin in the morning. If you're up to it, it's always worth checking with retailers while the clock is chiming - I pre-ordered my own PS5 when a local retailer opened their doors unexpectedly (pretty much as soon as Geoff Keighley tweeted the details). If you're not a night owl, though, don't worry there will be more chances to buy the 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim throughout the course of the day.

And we're live! Target now has the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary in stock

Target has just dropped the first wave of stock in the US, so head over quick to grab yours in these early hours. I wasn't expecting to be talking US retailers so soon, but I'll certainly take it.

PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition | $499.99 at Target

And Argos is now live in the UK

Argos is the first retailer to offer PS5 30th Anniversary console pre-orders this morning in the UK, as it's just listed the £429.99 bundle on its shelves. I'm expecting stock to move fast across the web here, so I wouldn't skip this early chance to secure your console

PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition | £429.99 at Argos

Incidentally, if you're in the UK...

Argos has also launched its PS5 Pro pre-orders this morning, being the first retailer in the UK to do so. That means you can grab your £699.99 console, though this stock is expected to last much longer - it never even sold out from Sony's first initial wave.

PS5 Pro | £699.99 at Argos

Trouble at Argos?

Some UK stock hunters on X are reporting that their orders are being placed at Argos, but they're not receiving confirmations. Keep an eye on those inboxes!

Target is still holding out strong in the US

It might be the early hour, and it might be the fact that Target stayed off the radar in the lead up to today's PS5 30th Anniversary pre-orders, but the special edition console has now lasted half an hour on these shelves. That's not to say this isn't going to be a mad dash later in the day, but it certainly bodes well that the store has enough stock to sustain these early pre-order hunters.

PSA: A Walmart Plus free trial won't grant you early access to pre-orders

I've mentioned this a little earlier in the afternoon, but it's worth noting that - while Walmart Plus members can get early access to PS5 Slim pre-orders tomorrow - you'll need to be a full paying member to qualify. That means you can't simply hop onto the service's 30 day free trial and join the queue.

Currys now has the PS5 Pro in stock

If you're on the hunt for the full-fat Pro console, I'd recommend heading over to Currys, the retailer just launched its own pre-orders after Argos took to the stage first this morning. It's a little pricier than the 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim and there isn't a hint of that classic gray.

PS5 Pro | £699.99 at Currys

Amazon UK has finally launched a listing page

Amazon has just dropped its listing page for the 30th Anniversary PS5 console, so it's well worth keeping a close eye on this retailer over the next hour or so. The online giant typically only launches these kinds of pages when it's nearly ready to unleash its stock, so keep refreshing for a shot at an early win.

When is the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition release date?

If you've just secured your pre-order at either Target or Argos, you might be wondering when you can expect that box of retro goodness to turn up at your door. The official release date is November 21, but whether your system arrives then is down to the store you choose.

Right now, Target is stating that delivery will take place "on or shortly after release date", while Argos is committing to your console turning up right on the launch day.

Very is sending me mixed messages

It looks like Very is gearing up to make some magic happen. The listing page for the 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim now has an 'Add to Basket' option, but is also listed an unavailable. I've just tried to brute force my way to checkout and it looks like the console isn't even going into the cart. This is certainly one to watch right now, though, as movements like this generally mean stock is getting ready to launch.

PSA: The PS5 disc drive is still in stock at Best Buy

The PS5 disc drive has been difficult to get your hands on at the best of times, but it's actually in stock for pre-order day today. Best Buy has the $79.99 add-on live on the shelves right now (you'll need it to play any physical games on your special edition console).

We could see some big things in three minutes

We're about to hit 10am in the UK - a golden hour for pre-orders. This is typically when I see most retailers launching difficult to find stock, so I'd recommend refreshing the links above regularly over the next few minutes. Argos is already live, but check in with Very (where an 'unavailable' listing page appeared within the last half hour and Amazon (where we often see sneaky stock drops without warning).

Stock Alert! The 30th Anniversary DualSense controller is back

You already get a 30th Anniversary Edition DualSense controller when you pre-order the PS5 Slim, but if you're after an extra Very has your back right now. This is going to move fast, though.

Stock Alert! PS5 30th Anniversary Edition in stock at Game

Game has just listed more PS5 30th Anniversary Edition pre-orders in the UK, with the console available on the shelves right now. You'll be paying a fiver for delivery here.

And here's the big one - Amazon has just launched pre-orders

You can now pre-order the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition at Amazon UK, with the retailer posting its stock mere seconds ago. I refreshed onto this live listing, so we're still in the early stages of this particular stock drop.

Amazon might already be struggling

I've just refreshed that Amazon UK listing after my fellow hardware editors were unable to get through to the live product. It seems that the console is currently jumping on and off Amazon's shelves. I would keep that refresh button hot - we don't know where the retailer is going with this yet, and things could level out in a few minutes.

Well that moved fast...

I'm now seeing the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition out of stock across Amazon and Argos. The former only seemed to last a matter of minutes, though, so I would certainly keep that refresh button warm. We could see more waves of stock jumping onto the shelves over the next few hours as that was a suspiciously fast sweep considering Argos managed to hold on for around an hour.

If you're sticking with Argos, though, be sure to double check your postcode. This retailer often assigns its inventory by local store, so you could get lucky with some availability nearby.

Who's up next?

We've heard from Amazon, Very, Argos, and Game in the UK which means Currys is under the microscope over the next few hours. The retailer listed its PS5 Pro stock this morning, but so far we haven't heard anything about the 30th Anniversary Slim model. I'd keep a close eye out here, with other retailers selling out reasonably quickly there's nothing to suggest Currys won't also be a flash in the pan.

Stock Alert! Amazon UK now has the PS5 Pro up for pre-order

The PS5 Pro is now available for pre-order at Amazon, with the retailer launching its stock just moments ago. The 30th Anniversary Slim model was wiped within a matter of minutes earlier this morning, so I wouldn't wait around for this one if you're boosting to the Pro.

PS5 Pro | £699.99 at Amazon

What to do when stock runs out

Things are moving particularly quickly in the UK this morning, so if you were lucky enough to secure some stock congratulations. If not, don't give up just yet. The original PS5 console also flew off the shelves when it launched, and while this is more of a limited release, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the same restocking tactics from retailers this time around.

That means I'd recommend keeping a close eye on the retailers that have already offered stock in the past. Refreshing their pages will mean you're in the right place at the right time to secure any second or third wave pre-order drops as they hit the shelves. It's not guaranteed that these will take place, but I would be surprised if that's the last we hear of the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary edition.

So what do you do now?

  • 1. Keep refreshing at Amazon (stock moved fast here this morning)
  • 2. Make sure you're signed in and have payment information saved
  • 3. Stick at it throughout the day
  • 4. Don't buy from resellers

Target has run out of PS5 30th Anniversary stock

Target was going strong for a long time there, but it now looks like the retailer has run out of special edition consoles. Yes, the 'Pre-order now' button looks to be live, but my last few checks trying to get it to checkout have failed. Instead, there's a message stating that the item wasn't added to the cart.

That's not the end of the story, though, we've got more pre-orders on their way from other retailers across the US later today.

PS5 disc drive in stock at Currys

If you're in the UK and in need of a disc drive, I'd recommend heading over to Currys as soon as possible. Stock is still holding out here after a turbulent few weeks - but I would be surprised if it withstood today's pre-order bonanza. After all, anyone pre-ordering either the 30th Anniversary Edition PS5 Slim or the PS5 Pro will need one of these to play physical games.

Top Tip: Try on mobile and desktop

Sites can get frazzled when hot-ticket items like this land, so it's worth getting both your PC and phone involved. I saw more shoppers gain success when trying to break through to a busy site on mobile when the original PS5 launched, and there's nothing to say things won't be different this time.

Stock Alert! EE has the PS5 Slim available for pre-order

This is going to go fast - EE is the only retailer currently offering 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim pre-orders in the UK right now. That price is slightly higher at £539, due to the added gift card and DualSense, but it's keeping the resellers and bots away and holding its position on the shelves. I'd still move fast here, though.

PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition | £50 gift card | DualSense | £539 at EE

Where should you check first in the US?

We're a few hours away from US pre-orders going live and while Target has already made tracks, I'm expecting far more activity from other retailers over the course of the day. If you're a Walmart Plus member, you'll be focusing on taking advantage of your exclusive early access. That means lining up at Walmart nice and early with everything signed in.

Consoles will likely run out of stock during this 10am ET start time, so if you're not a member it's worth focusing your attention on Best Buy. You'll need to be signed into an account to order from here, though, so be sure to get everything in order (including your payment details) well in advance of that 10am ET start time.

It's also worth hedging your bets with Amazon. While the retailer can be a little shy in putting its listing pages live, it often takes us by surprise with stock. Things can be a little more hectic here, but inventory should be healthy.

EE Produces the goods!

EE is showing stock of the 30th anniversary PS5 Slim, and you even get a bonus £50 game card and from the looks of it, two DualSense controllers.

It says there are 100+ people looking at the listing already so hurry, hurry, hurry!

£539 at EE

Hunting down that DualSense?

If you're going down the cheaper route for this year's 30th Anniversary celebration, it's worth noting that the $79.99 / £69.99 gamepad has been spotted back on the shelves this morning. Very listed the controller for a particularly short amount of time in the UK, so there could well be more stock on the way elsewhere as well.

Here's where I would check first:

EE has now run out of stock

It looks like EE has finally sold its last PS5 30th Anniversary pre-order, with the bundle now listed as out of stock on the site. This one held the line for a long time, going well beyond what we've seen from other retailers. That's likely down to the higher price tag on the bundle but it just goes to show how much easier it is to grab a console when you bundle items in together.

Amazon US has a listing page... of sorts

We finally have a listing page for the 30th Anniversary PS5 at Amazon, though it's a weirder one. I'd definitely keep an eye on that pop up, though - sometimes we see more action through these sneakier pages when the heat is on. Clicking past that buffer page brings you to a listing that's currently dead (aw cute dog), but the URL of that link looks like it's going to become a live page when 10am ET rolls around.

Amazon: Check listing page

A warning for anyone aiming for Walmart today

If you have never been a Walmart Plus subscriber before, you will automatically be added to a free trial when you sign up ahead of this morning's 30th Anniversary stock drop. That's a problem. Only paid members can take advantage of today's exclusive pre-orders so even if you sign up for the full membership you will still face a nasty surprise at 10am.

Be sure to head into your account settings and skip the free trial before 10am rolls around. That will put you onto a paid membership and you'll have full access to pre-orders.

This is your one hour warning

We now only have 52 minutes before PS5 30th Anniversary pre-orders go live at retailers across the US. Walmart and Best Buy are already primed to drop their stock, Amazon's going to be a slightly more hectic dash, and GameStop is still quiet. Get signed in, get that payment information saved, and warm up that refresh button.

I've just realized that Amazon hasn't dropped any DualSense stock yet

And that could be good news. While Best Buy and Walmart both sold 30th Anniversary DualSense pre-orders when they first dropped two weeks ago, Amazon was suspiciously quiet throughout the whole affair. That could mean there's a crate of controller ready to make their way to the shelves today, with the retailer holding its allocation for today's larger stock drop. Keep a close eye out if you're on the hunt for some extra buttons.

30th Anniversary DualSense controller | Check stock at Amazon

Here are the links you need to know about:

We are now less than 10 minutes away from pre-orders

Whether you're on the hunt for a PS5 Pro or a 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim, there's less than ten minutes left to wait. That means it's time to hunker down with that refresh button and keep those retailer sites looking fresh. It's nearly time to go - the next time I post, I'll be bringing you fresh stock on the shelves.

EE has restocked in the UK

I said the next time I post I'll be bringing stock, and I wasn't lying - it's just that I've spotted the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary bundle back on the shelves in the UK. Head to EE for this latest wave, but remember it's going to go quickly.

Stock Alert! Walmart's opened its doors

Walmart Plus members can now pre-order the 30th Anniversary Edition with a period of exclusivity. That means competition is going to be reduced here, but it's still certainly going to be fierce. It's time to get going!

PS5 30th Anniversary Edition | $499.99 at Walmart

Stock alert! Best Buy has 30th Anniversary pre-orders live

Best Buy has jumped in with its own 30th Anniversary PS5 Slim pre-orders already, but you'll need to move fast because this console is going to fly off the shelves. Remember, you need to be signed in to have access to this order and if things start going south, keep trying. It might be hectic but this is your best option if you're not a Walmart Plus member.

PS5 30th Anniversary Edition | $499.99 at Best Buy

If you don't see pickup available at Best Buy, change your zip code

Best Buy sometimes keeps its stock ready for in-store collection. If you don't see any collection options at your local store, enter another code for as long as you're willing to drive away and get hunting.

A Walmart queue is appearing

Walmart appears to be placing shoppers in its queue system to funnel traffic towards those pre-orders. It looks like the site is struggling a little, but we're still able to break through.

Stock Alert! Best Buy has the PS5 Pro available for pre-order

The PS5 Pro is now available for pre-order at Best Buy, at the regular $699.99 MSRP. You'll need to be signed into your account to order, but a free account will see you through.

Stock Alert! GameStop PS5 Pro pre-orders in stock

GameStop is the next retailer to drop the PS5 Pro this morning, with pre-orders now live across the site. Move in!

Best Buy is flashing in and out of stock

Some may be seeing 'out of stock' messages at Best Buy, but that is swapping in and out with a 'Pre-order' button on the page. That means the retailer is releasing stock in waves right now, so I would absolutely recommend sticking with it. Keep trying to get through to checkout, the fight's not over yet.

Who has the PS5 Pro in stock right now?

There are four retailers currently offering PS5 Pro pre-orders in the US. Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Gamestop are all looking strong right now with the mid-cycle refresh up for grabs and holding its position on the shelves. PS Direct did run out of stock earlier in the week, so things could well move a little faster here than we've seen in the last couple of weeks.

Top Tip: Check your apps

Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are starting to buckle, with loads of stock hunters piling onto their sites and snapping up stock. If your browser fails while you're in a queue to either check out or land on the page, be sure to check the retailer's app. I've been able to get through a little easier on mobile so far, so it's certainly worth a shout.

FYI: GameStop needs a Pro membership to pre-order

Pre-orders are refilling periodically at GameStop, but it's important to note that you will need a Pro membership to grab your console. These are longer gaps between stock waves, though.

Best Buy has reverted back to 'Coming Soon'

But I wouldn't give up yet. I've seen waves of 30th Anniversary PS5 pre-orders hitting these shelves over the last 40 minutes, allowing more stock hunters through the gate every ten minutes or so. While that gray button may be disheartening, I would keep trying here. More stock has been filtering onto the shelves at a regular enough cadence that I don't think we're fully done here yet.

What is Amazon doing?

Amazon hasn't even hinted at a PS5 30th Anniversary Edition pre-order today - only launching the Pro model at 10am. Amazon is always sneaky like this, so we can't tell when the retailer actually will drop those pre-orders. It hasn't even launched its DualSense stock yet, but is certainly one to watch. This isn't new behaviour for the site - it was also suspiciously absent during the first few waves of PS5 stock back in the day.

GameStop will be dropping new stock every hour

GameStop has announced that it will be launching new 30th Anniversary pre-orders every hour until it runs out of stock. We're just coming back up to the first restock, which is expected in just a couple of minutes. Make sure you're signed in with Pro membership and keep trying the links below (I'm seeing the site struggling a little).

The retailer tweeted that they will be dropping 600 consoles every hour until stock runs out today.

PS5 30th Anniversary bundle pre-order at GameStop

GameStop's next drop is now live

GameStop has just restocked is PS5 30th Anniversary Edition pre-orders, with the 11am drop live on the site right now. These will be hourly restocks hitting at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm ET with 600 consoles up for grabs each time. You need to be a Pro member to jump on this stock, though.

It's not just GameStop restocking right now

Walmart now has the PS5 30th Anniversary bundle back on the shelves for another wave. I've had to fight a little to get one into a cart, but it is possible if you keep rolling with it. Still, this is moving fast.

It might be time to call it on Best Buy

Best Buy's pre-orders might have come to an end. That 'Coming Soon' message has been on the page for over half an hour now whereas before the 'Pre-order' button was flashing on and off. It's worth sticking with it if you don't have a Walmart Plus or GameStop Pro membership, as this is the only subscription-free pre-order option we've had today.

Let's regroup

Where are we at the moment? Well, we're still waiting for Amazon to drop, but that could happen at any time between now and release day. Walmart is still a viable option for Plus members but requires a little spamming on the 'pre-order' button on that product page. GameStop needs a Pro membership, but is releasing 600 new units every hour until stock runs out (the next drop is at 12pm ET). Best Buy is seemingly out of stock, but you could get lucky with a regional supply at a store near you (check your zipcode for more options).

What if you missed today's pre-orders?

Didn't catch today's 30th Anniversary pre-orders? There's still time to try and smash your way through pre-order pages at Walmart and GameStop, but if you're concerned it's worth noting that we might have another shot at these consoles later in the year.

The PS5 30th Anniversary Edition will officially launch on November 21. I would seriously recommend lining up these retailers again on release day. You never know how many shoppers will cancel their pre-orders between now and then, and stores that wait to take payment until shipping can often find themselves with even more cancelled orders. Cards decline, payments fail, and people lose the pre-order hype. I often see another wave of stock making the rounds on release day itself for this very reason.

GameStop's next restock should be coming up in three minutes

Make sure you're signed into your Pro account on GameStop within the next few minutes, as we're expecting the retailer's next drop to go live very shortly. 600 more 30th Anniversary consoles will be available on the site, but things have been a little janky in previous drops. Keep trying that order button when stock does drop, as some shoppers have been able to slide through to checkout even when pre-orders are apparently out.

It's no retro gamepad, but the Fortnite DualSense controller is in stock at Best Buy

We haven't seen any new restocks of the 30th Anniversary DualSense controller in the US today, but if you're after a limited edition gamepad it's worth noting that Best Buy has stock of the Fortnite version right now.

GameStop's latest restock has come... and gone?

Here's hoping you had your GameStop Pro account signed in and waiting as it would appear that the latest restock of 30th Anniversary consoles is already done and duster. Given the wonky nature of the GameStop pre-order pages, you'll likely want to keep attempting that order button whenever stock does show up; some folks have been claiming they've seen success even when it would otherwise appear there's nothing left to be had. Regardless, 600 further consoles should be available at the top of the next hour, but there's no guarantee how long this all lasts.

Ready those clicking fingers for GameStop's penultimate restock

The second-to-last restock over at GameStop of the 30th Anniversary PS5 is upon us. As has been happening for the better part of the day, the retailer has another 600 consoles available at the top of the hour. There are a couple catches involved, however.

First and foremost, you'll need a GameStop Pro account, as they're exclusive to the service. Second, good luck getting one even then as they've been selling out immediately. That said, there have been scattered reports of folks still getting through despite some troublesome pre-order page shenanigans, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

It all comes to this: the final(?) GameStop restock

The official final pre-order restock over of the 30th Anniversary PS5 over at GameStop is just about to happen, so if you've been out of luck thus far this might be one of the last opportunities you have to grab one from the retailer. The language that GameStop has been using on social media doesn't technically preclude it from selling more of them at some point, but it certainly sounds like the 600 consoles available per drop today are all that it has available currently.

As a reminder, you'll need a GameStop Pro account to even grab one of these bad boys in the first place. That is assuming you can make it through the restocking gauntlet. As they say, may the odds ever be in your favor.

Seems like that might be all, folks (for now)

Welp, GameStop appears to be done for today at least when it comes to 30th Anniversary PS5 restocks. The last around it's latest (and seemingly last) drop for the day calls it "final," which feels pretty definitive. If you managed to score one from the retailer today, congratulations! If you didn't, well, here's hoping one of the many other retailers starts welcome pre-orders soon.
