Where the Browns would be picking if the 2025 NFL draft were today

The Cleveland Browns are off to a 1-4 start to the 2024 season, and many are already looking forward to the 2025 NFL draft as a result.

This is familiar territory for former regimes, but a new feeling for this current leadership led by general manager Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski. The highest draft pick this regime has finished with was the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

That selection was ultimately made by the Detroit Lions after the Houston Texans traded it to the Arizona Cardinals in a move-up for defensive end Will Anderson Jr. Arizona then moved up themselves to select offensive tackle Paris Campbell Jr. The Lions ultimately selected running back Jahmyr Gibbs with Cleveland’s original pick.

So where are the Browns currently slated to pick this year after an abysmal start? Near the top, just like old times.

Through five weeks, and if the 2025 NFL draft were today, the Browns would hold the third overall pick in the draft. This would be territory to land a new quarterback, and potentially Colorado standout Shedeur Sanders.

There is still plenty of ballgame left, but with the NFL’s worst offense, there is not much hope for this season turning around in any significant fashion. It may even get worse before it gets better.
