A lip reader has shared the moment that Sophie and Kate were left wondering “where’s George?”.
Over the weekend, King Charles III was crowned in a historic event at Westminster Abbey.
Afterward, the new king took to the balcony at Buckingham Palace to wave to the crowds below, joined by the rest of the Royal Family.
But there was one moment of apparent confusion involving Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and Kate, Princess of Wales.
When on the balcony, one lip reader claimed that Sophie seemingly realised one of the young royals was missing.
She allegedly said to Kate: "There's a kid missing … where’s George?"
The lip reader claimed that the princess replied "yeah" before nodding and laughing, the Daily Express reported.
When Sophie asked the question the nine-year-old prince wasn’t standing with his parents, or his siblings, Princess Charlotte and little brother Louis.
The Wales clan stood to the King’s right, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children.
But the prince was out of eyeshot to his left, wearing his red uniform with the other King’s pages.
The pages played a key part in the Coronation with eight young boys assigned to accompany the king and Camilla.
Each page was selected from a small circle of youngsters who either were young royals, relatives, or friends of the family.
The King had George, the Prince of Wales, Nicholas Barclay, grandson of Sarah Troughton, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, son of the Marquess of Cholmondeley, and Ralph Tollemache, grandson of Lord Timothy John Edward Tollemache as his pages.
Meanwhile, Camilla’s pages included her three grandsons, twin boys Gus and Louis, and 13-year-old Freddy, and her great-nephew, Arthur Elliot.
The King’s pages carried the monarch’s train as he exited Westminster Abbey.
Similarly, another lip reader claimed that Camilla could be seen directing her pages as they walked out onto the balcony.
They told the Sunday Express that she gave orders to two of the boys, telling them to "move forward" and to "come nearer".
Also during the Coronation, Royals fans were left stunned to spot a mysterious ‘Grim Reaper’ figure, who seemed to be striding through the Abbey on May 6.
But now the identity has been revealed of the figure who seemingly was holding a long staff and dressed in a black cloak.
Theories came from every angle, too, from Meghan Markle in disguise to the spirit of Princess Diana, but the truth has been revealed and the explanation is rather more mundane.
Westminster Abbey was asked exactly what or who the curious figure was, and it seems it was just a verger going about his daily business, albeit at the first Coronation in 70 years, coverage which was watched by nearly 19 million people in the UK.
A verger is a member of the Abbey community who assists with religious services, but who is not actually a member of the clergy, he is a layperson. He is basically a glorified caretaker or attendant in the abbey or other such place of worship.
