The Georgia Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed in College Sports Wire’s latest College Football Playoff projections. Georgia is projected to win the SEC.
Georgia is predicted to win the SEC over several other playoff teams including the No. 5 Texas Longhorns, who are projected to be the highest ranked team that is not a conference champion. College Sports Wire predicts that the Alabama Crimson Tide will be the No. 6 seed and the Ole Miss Rebels will be the No. 7 seed.
Georgia would play the winner of the No. 8 Tennessee versus No. 9 USC game at a neutral site if things go according to these playoff predictions. Georgia hosts Tennessee in the regular season on Nov. 16. If Georgia beat the Tennessee-USC winner, then the Bulldogs would likely play Texas or Utah (the No. 4 seed).
The 12 team playoff will be a lot of fun, but right now Georgia is focusing on its next game. The Bulldogs play on the road at the Kentucky Wildcats in their SEC road opener on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
“That’s a really tough place to play,” said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart on playing the Kentucky Wildcats in Week 3. “When you go there, as you can see from every time we’ve played there, it’s been really tough. A lot of excitement playing an SEC opponent on the road.”
