Where is Falling For Christmas filmed? Inside the cosy lodge in new Lindsay Lohan hit

The beautiful snowy landscapes and cosy North American ski lodges of Lindsay Lohan 's new film have got plenty of people dreaming about Christmas.

Falling for Christmas is Netflix's latest Christmas offering and, judging by early reviews, seems to have ticked similar holiday Hallmark-movie type boxes.

The film tells the story of a recently engaged and spoiled Sierra Belmont (Lindsay Lohan), whose parents own the Belmont Summit Resort.

After Sierra loses her memory in a skiing accident she falls into the embrace of Jake Russell (Chord Overstreet), the owner of the struggling North Star Lodge who helps the heiress discover her true self.

The swoony flick, which is set in beautiful Aspen, Colorado, has got viewers wondering where exactly it's filmed and whether the location can be visited.

The bulk of the film is actually shot in the state next door to Colorado, Utah.

Both of the resorts were shot inside real inns in the state's Salk Lake City and park City in the winter of 2021.

The fancy Belmont Summit Resort was shot in the Residences at Goldener Hirsch in Park City, which is advertised as a "European-style ski chalet with modern mountain residences."

Winter sports aficionados may be happy to know the resort has some quality slopes. In fact, it's even used as a training base for the US ski team.

The cosy interior shots that really help to establish the Christmas magic were filmed inside the Goldener Hirsch Inn, Dirt reports.

It is a classic example of European inspired American architecture that looks to mix Bavarian old world charm with modern US tastes.

The European hunting lodge themed building used to be four stories tall with 18 rooms and suites, but was recently expanded to have 60 rooms and suites with private balconies and fireplaces.

As well as a rooftop pool and hot tub, you can hang out in the library and sauna, if the room rates of from $400 (£331) in off-season to $4,000 (£3,331) in high-season don't put you off.

The cast and crew crammed themselves into the Goldener Hirsch last winter to film scenes set in the North Star Lodge, where Sierra and Jake get to know each other.

In the film the central hotel is decked out in Christmas garlands and twinkling lights. After all, it was named the Best Ski Boutique Hotel in the US by the World Ski Awards five times!

The exterior shots of the North Star Lodge were captured about 20 miles down the road at the Blue Boar Inn.

As the Goldener Hirsch is situated in the middle of a bustling and quite modern ski town, a quainter and more rural lodge was needed to give the film a rural, mountanous feel.

The Blue Boar and the thick snow drifts that ride up against it provides just that.

For those looking to go on a Falling for Christmas fan trail, then the Inn has 14 rooms themed in the style of Jane Austin or William Shakespeare that can be stayed in from $200 (£165) a night.

A key romantic scene in the film takes place at a tree-lighting ceremony, which was shot at the Powderhorn Lodge in Utah's Solitude Mountain Resort.

The hotel has a large clock tower which hangs over the snow-covered square outside, again offering some old world charm.

Visitors are able to stay from $129 (£106) a night and spend time relaxing in a hot tub with views over the nearby ski slope.
