Temperatured in Wales are set to rise to 30C this week, according to the Met Office's weather forecast. It has issued an amber weather warning for parts of Wales for "extreme heat" from Thursday, August 11, to Sunday, August 14. The coming days shows that the heat will affect nearly all of the nation but the highest temperatures are likely to be in the south east of the country.
In Wales, temperatures are expected to hit 30C at the peak on Wednesday afternoon in areas like Monmouth, Abergavenny and Hay on Wye. Temperatures soar over south Wales, with Cardiff and Newport reaching temperatures of 29C. As you head further west, by the coast, temperatures drop slightly to 24C in Aberystwyth and 23C in Cardigan.
At the peak of Thursday's heat at around 4pm, the border with England is expected to hit 31C with temperatures dropping slightly the further west you go, but only down as far as 29C in Cardiff, 27C in Swansea and 24C in Milford Haven and Aberystwyth.

A similar picture is expected again on Friday, with high temperatures again in the Monmouthshire area of up to 31C, Brecon will see temperatures of 30C and the warmth continuing into Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion where towns like Lampeter and Llandovery will bake in 29C heat.
Again on Saturday, temperatures are expected to peak at 32C in the Monmouthshire area, and the warmth continues in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion at 29C. Further north is slightly cooler, with temperatures at 24C in Caernarfon and Pwllheli. Sunday promises to be another scorcher, with the early afternoon starting at 30C on the border with England, dropping slightly further west, reaching 25C in Cardigan and 26C in Aberystwyth.
