It's been over 30 years since the cast of Carla Lane's Bread gave viewers a slice of Liverpool life which could only have come from our city.
Set in Liverpool in the mid '80s, the series focuses on the devoutly-Catholic Boswell family and first aired on May 1, 1986. And it wasn't long before the ceramic hen from the title sequence and theme tune sung by the cast became familiar to millions of viewers.
The street featured in the show was Elswick Street in Dingle. and ran over eight series until 1991. One of the nation's favourite sitcoms, Bread was written by the late Carla Lane, who sadly died in 2016.
