The Cincinnati Bengals appear to have much bigger concerns than whether they can make the playoffs this year.
Still, it never hurts to take a quick look at the overarching playoff standings — just in case, right?
Here’s a look at the AFC right now, where the Bengals sit 11th:
- Baltimore (9-3)
- Kansas City (8-3)
- Jacksonville (8-3)
- Miami (8-3)
- Pittsburgh (7-4)
- Cleveland (7-4)
- Indianapolis (6-5)
- Houston (6-5)
- Denver (6-5)
- Buffalo (6-5)
- Cincinnati (5-6)
Because of the cluster of teams above them, the Bengals haven’t technically lost all hope of a postseason berth. But that 0-4 mark in the AFC North and 1-6 mark in the conference puts the team at a huge disadvantage.
The Bengals play the Jaguars next week in another AFC encounter, giving them a chance to really climb back up, provided other teams lose, too.
