Where are the iconic Cheers cast now? From Woody Harrelson to Kelsey Grammer

Kirstie Alley's friends, fans, and family were heartbroken after the star died at the age of 71 from cancer.

The Cheers actor's children True and Lillie Parker said the actress was surrounded by her closest family when she died.

After hearing the news, her Cheers co-star, including Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammer, shared their love for her as they mourned her death.

Cheers began on NBC in 1982 but Kirstie didn't appear until season six as Rebecca Howe.

Her character began as an independent woman and she slowly started many failed romantic endeavors with rich men.

In the end, she ended up marrying a plumber and quits working for the bar.

Sam (played by Ted), who was the owner, frequently tried to seduce Rebecca without success.

Ted Danson

The actor has since moved on to many hit movies and TV shows such as Saving Private Ryan, Becker, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

He is widely known for his role as afterlife 'architect' Michael in The Good Place.

His most recent work includes Mr. Mayor, where he plays Mayor Neil Bremer.

Ted also executive produced the 2020 movie musical Best Summer Ever and appeared in many popular TV shows like CSI and Fargo.

The 74-year-old was first married to actress Randall Gosch in 1970 and the two stayed together until 1975.

Only two years later he married Cassandra Coates and the two share two children together. However, Ted's affair with Whoopi contributed to their divorce in 1993.

In 1995, he wed Mary Steenburgen, who he met on the set of Pontiac Moon in 1993. He became stepfather to her children, Lilly and Charlie.

Kelsey Grammer

Kelsey Grammer has been a household name for decades thanks to his role as Dr Frasier Crane in Cheers.

The 67-year-old's role ended up landing him a spin-off, Frasier, which aired for 11 seasons on NBC.

It was critically acclaimed and the series and cast won thirty-seven Primetime Emmy Awards.

A revival of the show was greenlit and will be released on Paramount+ and will have 10 episodes.

Since Cheers, he also voiced Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons, appeared in many television films, and took on the role as Chuck Darling in Back To You and Hank Pryor in Hank.

He also appeared in Boss, The Last Tycoon, Proven Innocent, and most recently, Flowers in the Attic: The Origin.

Kelsey has been married four times and has seven children and one grandchild as of 2011.

Some fans might associate Kelsey with his marriage to third wife, Camille Donatacci, who appeared on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Over the years, Kelsey struggled with substance abuse problems. He was charged several times for drunk driving, or cocaine possession and even had to check into rehab.

He credits religion for helping him through his struggles .

George Wendt

George Wendt, 74, played the friendly regular, Norm Peterson, on Cheers.

He earned six Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and even played the same role in the spin-off The Tortellis.

Although he was a huge part of the popular series, he mostly keeps a low profile in recent years.

He was born in the south side of Chicago and was expelled from the University of Notre Dame after he received a 0.00 GPA.

He went on to do economics at Jesuit Rockhurst College in Kansas City before sweeping up theatre floors.

The actor appeared in the 1980 film My Bodyguard and had small roles in the TV series Taxi, Soap, and M*A*S*H.

George took on many roles in the 90s, including in Anarchy TV, The Little Rascals and Guilty by Suspicion, but slowly moved away from it.

The star has been married to Bernadette Birkett – who played the voice of the mysterious Vera on Cheers – since 1978 and they have one daughter and two sons.

73-year-old Shelley Long played the sophisticated graduate student Diane Chambers, who reluctantly became a barmaid.

She received five Emmy nominations for it and won in 1983 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She also won two Golden Globe awards for it.

Shelley even reprised her role in three episodes of Frasier and even starred in the likes of Irreconcilable Differences, The Money Pit, Hello Again, The Brady Bunch Movie and more.

She later appeared in 8 Simple Rules, Boston Legal, Yes, Dear, and Joan of Arcadia.

Modern Family fans may recognise her from her role as DeDe Pritchett for eight episodes.

Shelley has been married twice. In 1981, she married her second husband Bruce Tyson and welcomed a daughter, Juliana, However, they divorced in 2004.

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson has been on our screens for decades and fans can't get enough of him.

The actor didn't appear on Cheers until season four as Woody Boyd but went on to win an Emmy for his role as well as five nominations.

He has become the most successful of the group and went on to appear in True Detective, Zombieland, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Hunger Games, and No Country for Old Men.

Woody won a SAG for No Country for Old Men and Three Billboards. He was nominated for his incredible roles in True Detective, The Messenger, and Game Change.

The 61-year-old, who identifies as an anarchist and has been very outspoken on his beliefs, such as for the legalisation of marijuana as well as speaking against the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

He has been married twice. In 2008, he married Laura Louie, and the two share three daughters named Deni, Zoe, and Makani.

Rhea Perlman

Rhea Perlman, 74, was in every episode of Cheers as impatient waitress Carla Tortelli who disliked most people.

Over the course of 11 seasons, she was nominated for ten Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress – winning four times.

She was also nominated for seven Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series.

The actress' sister Heide was even a television writer, story editor and producer who worked on Cheers and Frasier.

At the beginning of her career, she appeared in Up – An Uppity Revue, along with her future husband, Danny DeVito.

She married the It's Always Sunny actor in 1982 and they welcomed three children together.

Rhea is also known for her roles in Pearl, Kate Brasher, Hung, Robot and Monster, The Mindy Project, and even Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

John Ratzenberger

John Ratzenberger was a know-it-all bar regular and mail carrier, Cliff Clavin, on Cheers.

In the series, he lives with his mother and spouts nonsensical and annoying trivia, irritating the other bar patrons.

He earned two Emmy nominations for his annoying-but-loveable character and even appeared in the spin-off The Tortellis.

The 75-year-old does a lot of voice work and may be recognised for his roles as Hamm in Toy Story, Yeti the Abominable Snowman in Monsters, Inc, Mack the truck in Cars, and many others in 22 Pixar films.

He also took on roles in Just Roll With It, The Goldbergs, Legit, Bones and Drop Dead Diva.

The actor is married to Julie Blichfeldt and has two children from a previous 19-year marriage.

Nicholas Colasanto

World War Two veteran Nicholas Colasanto was a bartender named Coach. He played the role until his death in 1985.

He passed away of a heart attack at his home at the age of 61. The entire staff and cast of Cheers attended the memorial service in North Hollywood.

Besides Cheers, Nicholas also directed many series including Hawaii Five-O, Bonanza, Columbo, and Starsky & Hutch.
