Harrison Ford reprises his role as Indiana Jones in the latest instalment in the film series about the archaeologist's adventures, more than four decades after his debut.
The actor, now 80, first appeared as Dr. Henry 'Indiana' Jones Jr. in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), before returning in the Temple of Doom (1984) and the Last Crusade (1989).
More recently, he reprised the role in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) and he's back for one more adventure in the newly-released sequel the Dial of Destiny (2023).
It's been decades since the original trilogy, so we've taken a look at the lives of some cast members from those three films in the years since fans first met the beloved Indy.
Harrison Ford
Harrison was already a big name when he first appeared as the title character in the first film, with him having by then begun playing Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy.
He went on to appear in other films like Blade Runner (1982) and has since reprised his roles in Blade Runner 2049 (2017), as well as having returned as Han in recent years too.
The actor has been married to Calista Flockhart, 58, since 2010. The couple are parents to son Liam, 22, and Harrison has four older children from his two previous marriages.
Karen Allen
Karen Allen, 71, is best known for having played Indiana's love interest Marion Ravenwood. The character debuted in Raiders of the Lost Ark but has since returned in sequels.
She later had roles in Starman (1984), Scrooged (1988) and Malcolm X (1992). Her more recent credits include Things Heard & Seen (2021) and A Stage of Twilight (2022).
Alongside both acting and directing, she runs the company Karen Allen Fiber Arts, which has a clothing store and a knitwear design studio in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
Karen was married to fellow actor Kale Browne from 1988 until around 1998. The former couple are parents to Nicholas Browne, 33, who is understood to be a chef.
John Rhys-Davies
John Rhys-Davies, 79, first appeared as excavator Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Ark, with him introduced as an old acquaintance of Indiana. He has since reprised the role.
He's since played General Leonid Pushkin in the James Bond film The Living Daylights (1987), Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001 to 2003) and Brine King in Aquaman (2018).
The actor is also known for his voice work, including on shows like Spongebob SquarePants, and reportedly provided the introductory voiceover to the Isle of Man's Castle Rushen.
He was married to Suzanne Wilkinson from 1966 until her death in 2010, though had separated years earlier. They had two sons, Ben and Tom, together. He's now married to Lisa Manning and they have a daughter together, Maia, 14.
Denholm Elliott
Denholm Elliott played academic Marcus Brody in the trilogy, with his other film credits during that period including Trading Places (1983) and A Room with a View (1985).
The late actor ended up with a BAFTA for his role in the former, and was also nominated for his performance in the latter film, which also earned him an Oscar nomination too.
He sadly died of AIDS-related tuberculosis in 1992, a few years after having been diagnosed with HIV. His last film role was as the character Selsdon Mowbray in Noises Off (1992).
Denholm was survived by his wife Susan Robinson, who is said to have later established a charity in his memory, and the couple's two children, Mark and Jennifer.
Kate Capshaw
Kate Capshaw, 69, is best known for having played nightclub performer Willie Scott in the Temple of Doom. She hasn't reprised the role in any of the subsequent films.
She later appeared in films like Black Rain (1989) and Just Cause (1995), but is understood to have retired from acting in more recent years. Her last credit dates back to 2001.
The former actor is said to have begun studying art in 2009 and it's understood that her first solo exhibition was on display at Columbus State University earlier this year.
Kate has been married to Steven Spielberg, 76 - who directed the first four Indiana Jones films - since 1991. They have five children together, and their family also includes her daughter, actor Jessica Capshaw, 46, and his son Max, from previous relationships.
Ke Huy Quan
Ke Huy Quan, 51, rose to fame playing sidekick Short Round in the Temple of Doom. He's also known for his role as Data in The Goonies (1985), which was released the following year.
He had a few roles in the following decades but then took a break from acting, during which time he worked as a stunt choreographer and an assistant director in the film industry.
The actor however returned to the screen recently, notably having played Waymond Wang in Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), for which he was awarded an Oscar.
Ke - who won numerous other awards for the same role - is married to Echo Quan. The couple are said to have met working on a film together around two decades ago.
Sean Connery
After playing James Bond in seven films, Sean Connery joined the Indiana Jones franchise, with him cast as the title character's father Henry Jones Sr. in the Temple of Doom.
He went on to appear in films like The Rock (1996) and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), with him credited as having been an executive producer on both.
The late actor died in 2020, aged 90. It was reported that his death certificate listed pneumonia, respiratory failure, old age and atrial fibrillation as factors in his death.
Sean - whose credits also included The Untouchables (1987) -was survived by his wife Micheline Roquebrune and his son Jason Connery, 60, from a previous relationship.
Alison Doody
Alison Doody, 56, played archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in the Temple of Doom, serving as an antagonist. It came after she played villain Jenny Flex in A View to a Kill (1985).
She later appeared in films like Major League II (1994), King Solomon's Mines (2004) and The Rising Hawk (2019). Alison was also a cast member on Beaver Falls (2011 to 2012).
The actor was married to business executive Gavin O'Reilly, 56, from 1994 until their divorce in around 2006. The former couple share two daughters from their marriage.
