Annual energy bills have risen by more than fifty-percent for millions of households, piling further pressure on families amid a cost of living crisis.
In an attempt to compensate for rising costs, tenants and homeowners will receive an energy loan of £200 this winter, but ahead of that, every property in bands A-D will qualify for £150 council tax relief this month.
That kicks in this week for millions of people who qualify under the Chancellor’s scheme to ease some of the pressure households are facing due to soaring inflation.
