When will Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 wreck our lives?

Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 is getting ready to premiere on Netflix sooner than you would think.  Right now, the NFL is dominating the streaming landscape with the Minnesota Vikings taking on the Detroit Lions. The Kansas City Chiefs are also in action against the Denver Broncos shortly. But, for Stranger Things fans, No one cares about that and they just want to know about their favorite show following up on that dramatic cliffhanger from a couple of weeks ago. You’re in luck because your wait is basically over.

Netflix unleashes the chaos of Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT on December 25. Christmas Day might usually belong to the NFL and the NBA, but they’re going to have to share this year. The Duffer Brothers decided to rip everyone’s hearts out again on the way to the big series finale Stranger Things 5 on New Years Day in the United States.  You can bet that fans are going to try and crash the Netflix servers on December 31st when that final entry decides to rear its head.

For folks who haven’t been keeping up, Shawn Levy and the Duffers decided that all the Fall and Winter holidays would be devoted to keeping up with the kids from Hawkins, Indiana. And, looking at the ratings numbers, people took that charge to heart.

One of the reasons that Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 is going to hit so hard, is because of that massive ending note for volume one of this season. Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, has powers that will help turn the tide against Vecna. No one expected well to get powers, but here we are. The entire fandom was buzzing after the massive reveal at the end of the last episode. So, with things picking up from that point, expect more fireworks as we head toward that massive explosion on New Year’s Eve.

Tudum caught up with the Duffers to talk about that massive plot development. It seems like they’ve had that idea in the Hopper for quite some time. But, it isn’t just about giving a fan favorite character new abilities, it’s about Will as a person.

“We’ve always known that Will has a connection to Vecna and the Upside Down,” Ross Duffer told the outlet. “In Season 2, we started to delve into it, but one of the earliest ideas in the new season is, ‘What if Will were able to harness this connection and use it against our villains?’ We also felt it very natural to re-center the story on Will. He was the kid who was taken in Season 1, so it felt right for the story to come full circle. If anyone [was] going to be the key to ending Vecna, it needed to be Will.”
