There's a yellow weather warning in place for snow and ice at the beginning of the coming week across the North East - but the latest forecasts suggest we won't be seeing any snow until mid-Monday, even on higher ground.
Overall, the Met Office think there will be 5-10cm of snow in northern Scotland, and up to 2-5cm elsewhere. The forecasters don't think snow will fall in Newcastle on Monday, so we've checked out the forecast for Consett - with the white stuff often hitting the higher ground of County Durham before anywhere else.
The yellow warning remains in place through the entirety of Monday and Tuesday though, with the forecasts suggesting that there might be some sleet in Newcastle on Monday lunch time. That shower looks currently set for around 12pm.

The Met Office's regional forecast for the whole of the North East says for Monday: "Band of showery rain moves south across the area during the morning, turning wintry over hills. Sunny spells and snow showers developing towards midday. Feeling cold and becoming breezy. Maximum temperature 5°C."
And it sounds like Tuesday is more likely for some snow - this is the week ahead outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: "Very cold throughout this period with sunny spells and snow showers, more frequent towards the coast. Snow showers most likely on Tuesday then likelihood gradually decreasing. Severe frosts overnight."
But, with the likelihood that the weather in Consett is likely to be a sign of what's to come elsewhere - here is the hour-by-hour forecast suggesting when the snow will hit.
