Derek Carr got off to an explosive start for the New Orleans Saints in a new-look offense in 2024, but since Week 5, he hasn’t played due to an oblique injury.
He’s doubtful going into Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos, which means Spencer Ratter will continue to start.
So when is the quarterback coming back from this injury? Here’s the latest in terms of what we know.
Back on October 9, Ian Rapoport said that he would be out “a few weeks” with the oblique tear, so it might be a few more missed games. And per Saints Wire, “FOX Sports sideline reporter Holly Rowe shared an interesting footnote. She said the Saints had reached out to consult with Texas’ doctors on how they treated [Longhorns QB Quinn] Ewers so effectively” with a similar injury.
The #Saints are starting rookie QB Spencer Rattler, per me and @MikeGarafolo, as Derek Carr is out a few weeks with a tear in his oblique.
A hurdle for the #Saints, but also a look at a promising young QB. pic.twitter.com/FK7E3cohlg
