Hockey may be Canada’s game, but it’s been some time since they’ve been crowned Stanley Cup champions.
Once upon a time, the Stanley Cup practically lived in Canada year after year. Nowadays, a good portion of hockey fans haven’t seen a Canadian team lift the Stanley Cup in their lifetimes.
But, when was the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup? It was the Montreal Canadiens who last held that honor over 30 years ago, as they bested the Los Angeles Kings in five games in 1993 to hoist Lord Stanley. Since then, only seven Canadian teams have made it to the Stanley Cup Final, including the 2024 Edmonton Oilers.
