Needing the additions to help boost their top-four aspirations, Spurs will also be looking to go far in the Champions League and FA Cup. As Europe's premier competition restarts again in two weeks' time, Antonio Conte's team will need to submit their 25-man squad for the knockout phase very soon.
Per UEFA, the ruling regarding player registration states: 'As of the round of 16, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registration must be completed by 2 February 2023 (24.00CET) at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.
'Any or all of the players from the above quota of three may have been fielded for another club in the qualifying phase, play-offs or group stage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League.'
Already at the limit of 17 for non-homegrown players during the group stage of the competition, Bryan Gil's exit to Sevilla on loan and Matt Doherty's departure to Atletico Madrid means both Danjuma and Porro can be named in the squad in the knockout phase.
Djed Spence has left to go on loan to Rennes, meaning there is a spot for another homegrown player in the squad. But there are no non homegrown issues to contend with that Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho had before.
