Easter isn't that far away and it's probably time to start thinking about booking those all important delivery slots to ensure you get what you need ahead of the bank holiday. This year's Easter Sunday falls on April 17 2022, a much later date than usual due to it being the first Sunday that follows the first ecclesiastical full moon (known as the ‘Paschal’) after the spring equinox.
Despite the pandemic being nearly behind us many shoppers are still keen to do their food shop online which is why it's probably a good idea to book your Easter delivery slot soon. Whether you are looking to stock up on delicious Easter eggs, fancy some hot cross buns for a tasty snack, or will be cooking a roast dinner for family and friends, you can find a range of seasonal products that are perfect for your celebrations.
Here's everything you need to know about when major supermarket chains including Tesco, Aldi, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer and more will be opening their bookings for this year's Easter celebrations.
Tesco
Tesco's Easter delivery slots will be opening earlier for customers who are signed up to its Delivery Saver service. Slots for these customers will open up on March 15 at 6am. For all other customers, bookings will be open from 6am on March 22. The final date for all bookings will be Saturday, April 16, depending on availability - but there are still plenty up for grabs at this moment.
There is a minimum spend of £40 to qualify for delivery, the delivery charge is on average around £4.50. There are copious amounts of Easter treats on offer at Tesco, from trusty staples like crème eggs and mini eggs, to delicious new products such as Cadbury Dairy Milk orange mini eggs and lots of free from treats.
Those with a Tesco Clubcard will be able to access lots of discounts on various products across the entire Easter range, including XL Easter eggs and some of the more indulgent eggs on the market.
Top tip - check for delivery slots first thing in morning e.g. 6am. You can get 10% off Tesco grocery shop instore with one month trial of Clubcard Plus.
Waitrose
Waitrose's home delivery slots follow the same principles as the supermarket's everyday slot pattern, and customers can book a slot up to 25 days in advance. This means that slots to be delivered on Good Friday (April 15) are able to be booked from March 21, and Easter Saturday delivery times would be visible online from March 22.
As the supermarket will be closed on Easter Sunday, the last day for deliveries before Easter itself will be on Easter Saturday. Home deliveries will resume on Easter Monday. Slots can book up quickly around busy periods, but if you have left things to the last minute then not to worry, as you can order right up until 7pm on the day before you want your order to be delivered, subject to availability.
Waitrose are currently offering discounts and deals on big brand Easter eggs and Easter treats, as well as Easter dinner staples. There's a minimum £40 home delivery spend and click collect. It's £3 for delivery on a £40+ spend or free click and collect on £40 spend.
Top Tip - My Waitrose now gives more personalised offers and deals on the products you buy most often.
Marks and Spencer
Marks and Spencer is currently offering delivery slots now for Easter. M&S now have a limited food to order range directly on their site as most items are now through Ocado, although you can still order cake.
The gift range includes Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar gift bags, which include a range of chocolate and sweets, an Easter egg hunt kit and a themed bag. Marks and Spencer is also offering luxurious Belgian milk chocolate eggs, including one decorated with a striking floral design.
The range of M&S Easter treats can all be delivered right up until Easter weekend - and beyond in some cases - subject to availability.
Top tip - The code FTO5 could give £5 off £35 spend. You can also order M&S food through Ocado.
Aldi
Aldi is offering click and collect service to around 200 stores with no minimum spend. There's a £4.99 delivery charge for click and collect. Aldi's standard delivery takes three to five working days to arrive, whereas the next day delivery option can help with sourcing any last minute items.
Shoppers can order from a vast range of groceries and Easter staples online and select a one-hour collection window between April 14-16. To find out if click and collect has made it to your Aldi yet, just put your postcode in on their website.
Top tip - keep an eye out for Easter essentials in their special buys section, which you can browse online as well as in store.
Co-op
Co-op customers can continue to use the supermarket's on-demand grocery delivery service as usual during the Easter period, with no Easter-specific slots set to go live. Shoppers can order online and book a slot up to five days in advance of delivery.
Whilst this means that you can't bag a certain delivery slot too far in advance, it does mean that if you are speedy on April 11 (5 days before Easter), you could swoop in and take a slot just in time for the big day. To order online with Co-op you must spend a minimum of £15, and the cost of delivery is averagely £1.99.
Top tip - Co-op is currently offering deals of 2 for £8, or 3 for £10 across selected large Easter eggs.
Asda
Easter slots have been available since March 31 at Asda. Those with an Asda delivery pass may get earlier access or priority booking. A quick search on the Asda website will reveal that there are Easter delivery slots available up until Saturday, April 16.
Customers can choose their preferred date and time, but should not delay as the slots will be available on a first come, first served basis. The minimum online spend at Asda is £40 for delivery and £25 for click and collect.
Home delivery will cost customers between £1.75 and £7, depending on the time and day. Customers with pass holders have access to free delivery, but this service is currently closed to new customers. Asda are offering some impressive gifting deals this year with the option to get 4 Easter eggs for just £10, or 2 large ones for £7.
Top tip - shoppers will be able to amend their delivery up until the time shown on their order confirmation email, which is usually the evening before delivery.
Iceland
Iceland are not offering advanced booking for Easter delivery slot. The supermarket allows you to book online six days in advance of your delivery, so to get your order in time for Easter, check the websites for slots around April 10 or 11.
The minimum online spend for delivery is £25 with a £3 delivery cost, but if you spend £35 you'll get next day delivery for free. The reasonably priced supermarket offers 2 large Easter eggs for just £5, as well as joints of meat for Easter dinner from just 3.50.

Morrisons require customers spend a minimum of £40 to access home delivery and click and collect services. The cost to deliver can range between £2 and £7 for delivery, whilst there is no cost to click and collect.
Popular Easter gifting options are available across the site, as well as spring bakery deals and Easter dinner offers.

Lidl
Lidl does not currently offer a home delivery service, but there are plenty of seasonal delights to be found in store, from tasty chocolate treats to everything you need for your Easter roast dinner.
Sainsbury's
Delivery slots at Sainsbury's are now available for the run up to Easter, until Saturday, April 16. There are currently (April 6) plenty of slots available, so the advice it to get your booking in before its too late as it is first come first serve.
The supermarket chain offers a Delivery Pass service for customers, which entitles them to see slots further in advance and get priority at busy times. The minimum online spend is £40 for delivery, with free delivery for orders over £100. Whilst the minimum spend for click and collect is £40.
Top tip - have a look at the supermarket's freebees section online, as they sometimes run offers which allow you to add certain products to your basket for free.
