Eight million low-income households have already received – or will soon receive – the first half of the £650 Cost of Living payment. The emergency payment was introduced to help people manage soaring inflation and rising food, fuel and energy bill prices.
The UK Government confirmed earlier this week that more than 7.2 million households have so far been paid the first half of the Cost of Living payment. If you haven't had your first instalment of £326 yet, don't worry, as the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has said that anyone eligible will receive the money on or before July 31.
Those eligible for the payments include all families claiming one of seven means-tested benefits from the DWP. These are: Universal Credit, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Pension Credit.
