Made.com’s remaining stock is set to be auctioned off, after the furniture retailer collapsed earlier this month. Thousands of customers were left in limbo when the company went into administration on November 9.
Nottingham auction house John Pye has been appointed to handle the auctioning of all of Made.com’s leftover stock, which includes sofas, beds, tables and chairs. Rival chain Next, meanwhile, bought the Made.com brand, domain names and intellectual property for £3.4 million.
The Made.com auction will include more than 1,000 truckloads’ worth of 5,000 unique product lines. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Made.com auction and how you can get your hands on some bargains.

What happened to Made.com?
Made.com went into administration on November 9, after soaring costs and falling customer demand amid the cost of living crisis left the company in serious financial trouble. The announcement resulted in hundreds of job losses.
Around 12,000 customers had outstanding orders with Made.com at the time of the retailer’s collapse. These customers will not be able to obtain a refund directly from the company, and the firm has said that any orders which don’t arrive by November 25 will not be fulfilled.
PricewaterhouseCoopers, the administrator, has said it will contact unsecured creditors to inform them of how to make a claim for a refund. Alternatively, customers who paid by credit or debit card may be able to obtain a refund through their card provider.
When will Made.com stock go to auction?
Auctioneer John Pye says that Made.com stock will be auctioned off from the week starting November 21. New lots will be added each week, the auctioneer states on its website.
Items to be auctioned will include bedding, sofas, kitchenware, artwork, tables and chairs, soft furnishings, sideboards and TV units. These items will be available at big discounts from the retail cost, according to the auctioneer.
Home delivery will be available on all auctioned Made.com stock. Buyers are guaranteed to receive their stock in time for Christmas, John Pye has said.
