Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers will likely meet again in 10 or 11 days after this evening's 2-2 draw in the FA Cup third round left the sides needing a replay.
A whirlwind game saw Julen Lopetegui's side take advantage of an Alisson Becker howler to lead, but goals either side of half-time from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah put the Reds back in the driving seat.
However, as seems to keep happening recently, Jurgen Klopp's side failed to see the game off, and two of Lopetegui's substitutes combined to see Hwang Hee-Chan level. The Midlands side thought they had won it with eight minutes to go, but for Toti's goal to be ruled offside in controversial circumstances.

A replay will be an unwelcome addition to an already congested fixture list for both sides, with Liverpool battling for a Champions League place while Wolves try and pull themselves clear of relegation trouble.
The fourth round of games will take place on the weekend of January 28 and 29, giving organisers three weeks to find a space for the replay. Rarely for this point in the season, Liverpool have all three midweeks free, although Wolves are in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday January 11, effectively ruling out next week.
With the week beginning January 16 seeing both sides free during the week, January 17 and 18 - the Tuesday and Wednesday respectively - look the most likely date for a replay. Another fixture that ended level this evening, Luton's replay with Wigan has been rescheduled for January 17, a hint at what could lie ahead.
