Dry weather is set to finally return to Wales briefly this weekend, after a rainy start to the New Year. After days of drizzle, showers, and in parts heavy downpours, people will see dry skies on Saturday before the wintery weather returns next week, according to the Met Office forecast for the region.
Less than a week into 2023 and Wales has already had its fair share of rainfall, with a yellow weather warning for rain issued for Wales on Tuesday. The warning, which lasted for eight hours, forecast that higher ground could see 50mm of rain. And if the heavy downpour wasn't enough, it was also matched with strong winds across large parts of the country.
But for those hoping to get out of the house without being drenched any time soon, it looks like there will be a brief break from the rain this weekend. And while the elements have certainly been testing people this week, according to the Met Office the temperatures have been "mild" for the period.
