A grandmother spotted what she believed could have been an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) in North Tyneside.
The 63-year-old said her grandson saw what he thought was a plane in the sky near her home in Camperdown. However she said there was no vapour trial or noise coming from it.
The woman, who does not wish to be named, said she used her phone to zoom in and get a closer look at the object and noticed that it was an oblong shape.

She said it appeared to stop still for a few seconds before moving again.
The woman, who has three grandchildren, saw the object in the sky at around 8.40am on Wednesday morning. She said: "I thought it was really unusual. My grandson said 'It's a plane' but there was no vapour trial.
"It stopped for a few seconds then started moving again. When it stopped still I thought that's not right! We live near the airport run and we are used to the noise but there was nothing - it was dead silent.
"I know it sounds really stupid but with it being the shape it was I did think it was a UFO. It was due to the shape of it and how bright it was, considering how far away it was.
"I thought it was really strange because it looked so out of the ordinary compared to what we are used to seeing around here. I thought that's so odd."
Chronicle Live contacted Newcastle Airport to ask for answers. A spokesperson said: "Newcastle International Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower said that it is likely to be an airline travelling at high altitude."
Earlier this week, Nikita Sim claimed she spotted a UFO in the sky above her home in Lemington, Newcastle. She captured a photo of the moment and went upstairs to show her partner. When she came back, she discovered it had disappeared.
She said: "I'd describe it as a circle with a ring around it, and dark smoke coming from the bottom. I first thought it was just a plane, but it was strange that it was travelling upwards rather than sideways.
"I just felt like it was unexplainable, especially when I showed my partner the photo and he thought it was a UFO too without either of us saying anything."
Many people across the North East have reported seeing possibly UFOs. You can read about 20 other rumoured sightings in the region here.
