From the imagination of Tim Burton comes another exciting Netflix original series, as The Addams Family spin-off Wednesday is just weeks away from release. The show promises to be a “supernaturally infused mystery” perfect for lovers of the mysterious and the macabre.
After the raven-haired Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, is expelled from her “normal” human high school, she is sent away to Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for outcasts, freaks and monsters. During her time there, Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability and thwart a bloody killing spree that has terrorised the local town.
Elsewhere on her to-do list, Wednesday attempts to solve a supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago, all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore. The show boasts an ensemble cast of exciting newcomers and Hollywood stars including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams.

Behind the camera sits the writer-producer duo responsible for Smallville and Spider-Man 2, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, alongside legendary auteur Tim Burton. Burton’s frequent collaborator Danny Elfman composes the music for the show, ensuring it is in keeping with his weird and wonderfully dark tone.
When is Wednesday released on Netflix?
Wednesday streams on Netflix this autumn, just as the leaves begin to die. “Wednesday loves it when things die,” according to Netflix.
All eight episodes of the series will drop on the streaming service on Wednesday, November 23 at 8am, making it the perfect show for your next TV binge.
