Xbox and Bethesda's showcase for this summer will be taking place next month on Sunday, June 11, and includes an in-depth look at Starfield
E3 may be no more, but that hasn't stopped console makers from going into business for themselves. Last week's PlayStation Showcase kicked off the summer of games, but Microsoft is next in line to show off all the latest Xbox and Bethesda titles – including a deep dive on Starfield – with a stream of its own on Sunday, June 11.
Xbox promises "new surprises and first-looks" at titles from internal studios and third party partners in an Xbox Wire post. The stream will be split into two, an Xbox Games Showcase which will resemble the type of stream we're accustomed to by now with rapid fire announcements and occasional talking heads. Immediately following that will be the Starfield Direct which will offer a deep dive into the upcoming RPG.
Xbox and Starfield showcase start time
The Xbox and Starfield showcase will take place on Sunday, June 11 at 6pm BST / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT. While no official runtime has been announced, it's set to be a lengthy showcase, with the Xbox Games Showcase starting the show, and the dedicated Starfield showcase airing directly after.
How to watch the Xbox and Starfield showcase
Xbox will be streaming the event on its Youtube and Twitch channels, both will be airing at the same time, so pick whatever platform you prefer.
We'll be sure to embed the stream here for your viewing pleasure, as soon as Microsoft makes it available.
What to expect from the Xbox and Starfield showcase
As the name implies, we'll be treated to a deep dive on Bethesda's upcoming RPG Starfield, Xbox promises that we'll see "tons of new gameplay, developer interviews, and behind-the-scenes insider information", probably very similar to the deep dive Bethesda had for Fallout 4 at it's E3 2015 presentation. But we know about that already, as for what else is set to show up, we have a few ideas.
During an interview with Xbox boss Phil Spencer on Kinda Funny Xcast, host Parris Lilly asked about a list of announced Xbox titles like Avowed, State of Decay 3, Fable, Everwild, Perfect Dark, Contraband, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, to which Spencer responded "we're gonna give updates to some of the things that were on your list". Spencer saying "some" implies that not every title on that list will show up, however, one we can almost guarantee will be at the Xbox and Starfield showcase is Hellblade 2. The game was shown amongst a slew of 2023 titles in a recent Xbox Game Pass ad seeming to imply that the game will be a 2023 release.
In terms of third parties, a reputable Atlus leaker on ResetEra implied that a remake of Persona 3 (of which footage leaked earlier this year) may be revealed at Microsoft's event, which when you consider that the ports of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal were announced at the Xbox show last year, it makes some sense. We could also have our first proper look at Hideo Kojima's Xbox project which was announced at the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Showcase.
