The Scottish Cup enters the final hurdle this evening with three of the four quarter-final ties played.
Eight teams started the weekend in the hunt to lift the famous old trophy with three now booking their trips to Hampden by securing a semi-final spot. Inverness became the first team to reach the last four after picking up a Premiership scalp over Kilmarnock. Derek McInnes' men took an early lead in the Highlands but the Scottish Championship side hit back with two goals to secure the big win.
Saturday lunchtime was the turn of both Hearts and Celtic with Ange Postecoglou and his troops keeping their Treble hopes alive and kicking with an emphatic victory in Gorgie. The Hoops, who have already lifted the League Cup and hold a strong nine point lead at the top of the Premiership - ran out 3-0 winners thanks to Aaron Mooy, Kyogo Furuhashi and Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Holders Rangers took to the field yesterday afternoon against Raith Rovers and secured a comfortable 3-0 win of their own. Connor Goldson's bullet header just before the break broke down the second tier side before a James Tavernier cross was converted by a visiting defender beyond Jamie MacDonald. Scott Arfield made sure of the win late on. Tonight is the final fixture with Falkirk or Ayr United booking their spot at the national stadium. But when is the draw for the semi-finals?
