When is the Royal Christmas Carol service on TV and who will be there?

The Princess of Wales returns to London’s Westminster Abbey this Christmas to host a special carol service to recognise the selfless efforts of individuals, families and communities across the UK. Recorded on Thursday, December 15, the service will celebrate and showcase the joy human connection and togetherness can bring.

Spearheaded by Kate herself, this year’s carol service is dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II and the values she demonstrated throughout her life, including duty, empathy, faith, and compassion. Combining traditional and modern elements to encompass people of all faiths and none, the service will see the Westminster Abbey choir perform some of the nation’s most beloved carols.

The broadcast will also feature an introduction from Kate, films highlighting individuals who go above and beyond to support others, and tributes to the Queen.
