It is almost time for the second stage of the Premier Sports Cup already with the group stages coming to a close this weekend.
It means that Scotland's European representatives will now be joining in on the action as the last 16 ties approach, with the draw just a day away. The clashes are scheduled for next month, with some shocking early exits during the group stages. Hibs have been knocked out after an SPFL sanction teamed with poor performances saw them fail to secure enough points.
Fellow Premiership sides St Mirren and St Johnstone have also bowed out of the competition already after both finished third in Group E and Group F respectively. But those remaining will now fight it out in knock-out rounds. The eight group winners and three best runners-up progress to the last 16, where they are joined by the five clubs competing in European competitions this campaign.
