The 2023 Ryder Cup is over after Team Europe reclaimed the crown in Rome, and now attention turns to 2025 and the rematch in New York.
Bethpage Black Course in the Long Island city of Farmingdale will host the next Ryder Cup in two years’ time.
Opened back in 1936, the course is actually publicly owned and is the hardest of five courses at Bethpage State Park.
Measuring a hefty 7,459 yards, the par-70 route favours the big drivers and promises to be a particularly tough test given its regular ranking among the most difficult golf courses in the United States. That said, its 18th hole has come under criticism for being an overly tame finish in previous years.
Team USA may feel an advantage given its history, with an American winner in each of its three major events; Tiger Woods won the 2002 US Open, Lucas Glover followed that up with the 2009 edition, and Brooks Koepka won the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage.
The 2025 Ryder Cup is teed up for September of that year, although the exact official dates are yet to be confirmed.
Tickets are not on sale yet, but fans can pre-register their interest via the Ryder Cup website.
Bethpage was awarded the Ryder Cup back in 2013 and a number of future venues have also been confirmed.
In 2027, Adare Manor in Ireland’s County Limerick will be Team Europe’s next host before trips to Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota two years later and The Olympic Golf Club in San Francisco for 2033.
