When is the next Paralympics? 2024 games draw to a close

We are more than halfway through the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

On the sixth day of the Games, Faye Rogers defeated Callie-Ann Warrington, a teammate, to win Great Britain's 30th gold medal.In the women's S10 100m butterfly final, Rogers, 21, passed Warrington and touched the line first, giving both swimmers their first Paralympic medals.Wheelchair racer Sammi Kinghorn earned her second silver medal of the Games in the women's T54 1500m, while wheelchair fencer Piers Gilliver won silver in the men's sabre A category, as part of GB's six-medal haul on Tuesday, September 3.Bronzes were added by Georgia Wilson and Natasha Baker in the Chateau de Versailles individual grade II and III Para-equestrian events.

In the wheelchair basketball quarterfinals, Great Britain's men defeated Australia to advance to the semi-finals, where they will face Germany.After Turkey's Serkan Yildirim, the victor of the men's T12 100m final, was disqualified retroactively, British competitor Zac Shaw was awarded a bronze medal.With 61 medals overall, including 30 golds, Great Britain is second only to China, who has won the most medals (115 total, including 53 golds) throughout the previous five Paralympic Games.

In terms of the seventh day, taking place on Wednesday, September 4.

Dame Sarah Storey kick-started the seventh day today (Wednesday, September 4) by winning the women's C5 time trial to record her 18th Paralympic triumph in nine Games.

It also marks the first day of powerlifting. Commonwealth champion Zoe Newson will compete in the women's up to 45kg event.

And Sophie Wells, a four-time gold medallist, will also compete, in individual horseback riding.

There are only four more days left until this year’s Paralympics comes to an end. So that brings us to the question of when the next Paralympics is happening.

When is the next Paralympics?

The next Paralympics will take place on March 6, 2026, in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The hosts emerged victorious over Stockholm during a voting session held by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on June 24, 2019.

In addition to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Turin, this will be Italy's third Paralympic Games.

The opening ceremony will take place in the Verona Arena and the Games will be split between venues Milan Cluster, Val di Fiemme Cluster, and Cortina d'Ampezzo Cluster venues

There will be 79 events in six sports. It is expected to finish on March 15, 2026.
