The Spider-Man spinoff Morbius has a confirmed release date and this time it’s official. After being postponed several times due to the pandemic it looks like fans will finally get to see Jared Leto as the titular character.
Leto is joined by Doctor Who’s Matt Smith, who plays the film’s villain Loxias Crown and Morbius' best friend, he also suffers from the same blood disease. Set in the same universe as Venom, Tom Hardy could possibly make an appearance.
Batman’s Michael Keaton is also expected to make an appearance after he appeared in a teaser clip but it’s not known who he will be playing yet. Other cast members include The Crown’s Jared Harris who portrays Morbius’ mentor, Fast and Furious’ Tyrese Gibson plays an FBI agent whereas Adria Arjona plays the love interest and Simon Straud is on a hunt to catch Morbius.

When is the Morbius UK release date in cinemas?
Sony has confirmed the release date for Morbius is Friday, April 1 2022. The film was originally pencilled for 2020, however, with the rate of coronavirus infections it has been pushed back three times.
The film tells the story of a biochemist Dr Michael Morbius who develops a rare blood disorder, he succeeds at finding a cure after countless experiments but there’s another problem - he is now a living vampire.
In the comic book series, Morbius attacks his best friend Loxias Crown and also turns him into a living vampire. We don’t know if the film is going to stick to that narrative.

Morbius is rated 15 in the UK for strong threat, horror, violence.
