The US version of the Circle was launched in January 2020, stemming from the original UK version that was originally aired on Channel 4. However, although the UK version of The Circle was cancelled after series three in 2021, The Circle US is still going strong and will be returning for a fourth season this month.
Netflix launched The Circle US in 2020 and it saw popularity as the show follows candidates in the race to win the grand prize of $150,000 after weeks of being in isolation and putting on online personas among other candidates. Candidates can choose to either be themselves or adopt a completely different online persona in the game as their fellow contestants suss who may be staying true to themselves.
The show addresses the complexities of online personas such as catfishing. The official trailer of The Circle US is now available to watch on the official Netflix YouTube channel as well as on the streaming platform itself.
