When is The Book of Boba Fett season finale and how many episodes are there?

One of Star Wars’ most intriguing and enigmatic characters has finally been given the spin-off series that fans have long demanded.

The Book of Boba Fett follows the mysterious bounty hunter as he tries to navigate Tatooine’s criminal underworld while fighting for Jabba the Hutt’s old territory.

Described as a space western, the action in the show takes place in the years following events in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.

It began airing on Disney+ on December 29 last year and came after the success of another of the streaming service’s Star Wars spin-offs, The Mandalorian.

When is the final episode of the Book of Boba Fett?

The series will run for seven episodes - with new episodes dropping each Wednesday at around 8am in the UK.

Five chapters have been shown so far - with the sixth set to air on February 2.

The seventh and final instalment is expected to appear on Disney+ on February 9.

Who is in the cast of the Book of Boba Fett?

The crime lord and bounty hunter Boba Fett is played by Temeura Morrison, a New Zealand actor who first gained recognition for his role on soap opera Shortland Street.

Morrison appeared as the bounty hunter Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and also provided the voice acting for Jango clones in that movie.

He reappeared as a number of clones in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and re-recorded the lines of Boba Fett - Jango’s clone ‘son’ - in the 2004 DVD re-releases of the original Star Wars trilogy, replacing the voice of the original actor Jason Wingreen.

Morrison physically portrayed Boba Fett for the first time in the second season of The Mandalorian.

Ming-Na Wen stars as mercenary and assassin Fennec Shard, Boba Fett’s partner. The American actress and model is known for her starring roles in the Mulan animated musical action films.

She is also recognisable to viewers of medical drama series ER as Dr Jing-Mei ‘Deb’ Chen.

Pedro Pascal’s protagonist from The Mandalorian - Din Djarin - also makes an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. Pascal has appeared in hit TV series Game of Thrones and Narcos - along with recent films Wonder Woman 1984 and We Can Be Heroes.

The series is being produced by Mandalorian creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, while a number of directors from that show have returned to work on The Book of Boba Fett - including Robert Rodriguez and Bryce Dallas Howard.

What about the Book of Boba Fett reviews?

The reviews of the latest Star Wars spin-off have been mixed so far.

Ian Freer, writing in Empire, gave the first episode three out of five stars, saying the start of the series was “solid, always enjoyable, if slightly unremarkable".

Daniel D'Addario, of Variety, on the other hand, said the show had "clean narrative lines, crisp visuals, and a compelling central performance".

Chris Edward, of The Guardian, however, was less kind. He said Disney+ had ruined one of Star Wars’ greatest enigmas - systemically taking "apart from everything that ever made him the coolest and most mysterious character in a galaxy far, far away".
