The first named storm of the season is expected to impact areas throughout the UK this week.
Called Storm Agnes, it is anticipated to bring gusts of up to 80 mph in some places, as well as heavy rainfall.
Talking about the storm, Met Office chief meteorologist Steve Ramsdale said: “While the precise track and depth of Storm Agnes is still being determined, there’s a high likelihood of wind gusts around 50 to 60mph for some inland areas. Exposed coastal areas could see gusts of 65-75 mph with a small chance of a few places seeing around 80mph.
“As well as some very strong winds for many, Storm Agnes will also bring some heavy rain, with the highest totals more likely in Scotland, northern England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Around 60mm of rain is possible in a few places over high ground in Scotland.”
In line with that, a Yellow Warning for wind has already been issued for a large area of the country, with Scotland being issued an additional rain warning.
The announcements have left many wondering when exactly Storm Agnes is due to hit the UK and what the weather in London expected to be.
When is Storm Agnes due to hit the UK?
Storm Agnes is expected to impact much of the UK today (Wednesday, September 27), and tomorrow.
While it is expected to have a significantly reduced impact from late Thursday, the Met Office is expecting rain to move into southern areas following the storm, and some areas of England and Wales should expect heavy bursts of rain.

What is the weather forecast for London?
This week, the forecasted weather for London is relatively mild compared to other parts of the country but wind will sweep across the capital.
Today is likely to be cloudy, with a high of 22°C and a low of 14°C.
However, throughout the night and into the early hours of Thursday, wind speed will increase to 31 mph.
By Thursday, the wind will have calmed down and it will be a cloudy day, with a high of 18°C and a low of 16°C.
A sunnier day is expected on Friday, September 29, with temperatures remaining between 12°C and 20°C throughout the day.
The weekend will be more of the same with clouds, mild weather and, if luck permits, some sunny intervals.
Where is Storm Agnes due to hit?
Storm Agnes is set to “rapidly intensify” today. Forecasters say a widely windy day across the whole of the UK is expected, meaning most of the country will feel the effects of the bad weather. The Irish Sea coasts — including parts of England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland — have been told to brace for heavy rain and gusts.
A centre of low pressure moved over the Atlantic on Tuesday, as it approached the UK, and is expected to mainly affect the west coast. London will still be affected by rain and wind, though.
Gusts of up to 60mph are expected all over the country, with exposed areas on the coastline possibly facing 60-75mph winds, and a small chance of coastal areas seeing up to 80mph winds. There will also be steady, heavy rain and choppy waves.
