When is Project Hail Mary on streaming? The new science fiction movie, based on Andy Weir's best-selling novel, is one of the year's hottest releases. Directed by The LEGO Movie's Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the movie is this week's biggest cinema release and looks set to be one of the year's defining movies.
In Project Hail Mary, a biologist named Dr. Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship with amnesia, eventually discovering that he is part of mission to save the Earth. It's a twisty plot, and we don't want to give too much away here, suffice to say that the film is well worth seeing on the biggest screen possible. You can find out more about what we thought of the movie with our Project Hail Mary review.
But you're here to find out when the new film is streaming. The truth is, we don't know just yet, but we can make some informed speculation. So read on to find out when we think Project Hail Mary might be streaming.
Project Hail Mary streaming release date speculation

If you want to see Project Hail Mary any time soon then you'll need to head to your local cinema. The film is released on March 20, 2026 and is well worth the trip to your local multiplex.
Of course, it will eventually get a home release. Usually, we'd look to a studio's previous release strategy to work out when a new film might hit streaming, but the film is being released by Amazon MGM Studios, which has a large and eclectic release schedule, with some films released theatrically and many more going straight to streaming. The studio's most recent "big" release in theaters was Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt, which is a very different sort of film!
As a big, splashy sci-fi blockbuster, we expect the film to stay as a theatrical release for a large portion of the typical 45-90 day streaming release window. With that in mind we're going to speculate that June 3, 2026 feels like a plausible streaming release, coming 75 days after its cinematic release. We'll keep an eye on this, though, and update the page when we know more.
