When is Nicola Sturgeon's Covid update and what will she announce?

Nicola Sturgeon will be giving a statement to the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday regarding the current coronavirus rules.

The First Minister is expected to address MSPs at Holyrood for her weekly update on the pandemic (February 1.)

It comes as restrictions were eased further this week, after a phased and gradual return to work in offices was allowed to go ahead from Monday (January 31.)

Other measures such as the closure of nightclubs and hospitality restrictions were eased earlier in the year, with the Scottish Government reporting a more "positive" situation.

As the Omicron wave continues to decline, rules around self-isolation and testing have also changed, with the vaccine roll-out continuing across the country.

What time is Nicola Sturgeon speaking?

The First Minister will be addressing the parliament at around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon (February 1.)

What will she announce?

Nicola Sturgeon will be setting out the latest coronavirus figures, as well as updated vaccination numbers.

She will also provide MSPs with an idea of how Scotland is progressing out of the latest Omicron wave.

It comes as the FM is also reported to be facing pressure from opposition parties to allow workers back in offices on a full-time basis due to impacts on the economy.
