All the dates for this year's bank holidays have been confirmed, including when the King will be coronated.
Bank holidays are a national public holiday and they are usually spread out across the calendar and includes seasonal events such as Christmas, Easter and the New Year. On these days, most shops, schools, and businesses whill close while public transport will operate on a different timetable.
This year is special for bank holidays because we will get an extra one to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III in the summer. If you want to get some extra time off work, it may be a good idea to familiarise yourself with this year's bank holidays so you can properly book it.

- St Patrick's Day (Northern Ireland) - Friday, March 17
- Good Friday - Friday, April 7
- Easter Monday - Monday, April 10
- Early May bank holiday - Monday, May 1
- Coronation of King Charles III - Monday, May 8
- Spring bank holiday - Monday, May 29
- Orangemen's Day (Northern Ireland) - Wednesday, July 12
- Summer bank holiday - Monday, August 28
- St Andrew's Day (Scotland) - Thursday, November 30
- Christmas Day - Monday, December 25
- Boxing Day - Tuesday, December 26
For the first time since 2019, Christmas Day and Boxing Day will have their bank holidays on the correct days. This is due to the fact that the seasonal holidays have landed on the weekend for the past three years.
