Legends of Liverpool and Manchester United are set to roll back the years next week as they meet in an epic showdown at Anfield to compete once again in this famous north west derby.
The rivalry between them runs deep with former pros from each side donning club colours to relive some of the monumental clashes they were involved with down the years. All proceeds from the game are to be donated to a variety of LFC Foundation programmes as well as local community and football projects, and with a star studded lineup set to be on show, it certainly isn’t worth missing.

When is Liverpool Legends vs Man Utd Legends?
Liverpool Legends vs Man Utd Legends will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday, September 24 at Anfield.
The last meeting between these two sides came in the reverse fixture back in May, when the Reds recorded a 3-1 victory to be crowned the Legends of the North at Old Trafford.
A goalless first half was followed by a frantic second, beginning with Luis Garcia putting the Reds in front before Dimitar Berbatov won and scored a penalty to equalise. However, Mark Gonzalez scored a brace, including a sublime free-kick, to win the tie for the visitors.

How to watch
The match is expected to be broadcast live on Liverpool’s LFCTV channel, with customers also able to stream this via LFCTV GO and the LFCTV GO app.

Who’s involved?
Just as there was in the reverse fixture back in May, a star-studded lineup is set to take centre stage for both sides ahead of this fixture. In charge of Liverpool’s team will once again be Sir Kenny Dalglish, while it is yet to be confirmed if Bryan Robson will return to take charge of the Red Devils.
Liverpool’s confirmed players are Xabi Alonso, Maxi Rodriguez, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Robbie Keane, Steve McManaman, Jerzy Dudek, Momo Sissoko, Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Mark Gonzalez, Stephane Henchoz, Andriy Voronin, Sander Westerveld, Luis Garcia, Albert Riera, Stewart Downing and Gregory Vignal, with more still to be announced.

Liverpool Legend Xabi Alonso, who last featured in the 2018 Legends game against Bayern Munich, spoke of his excitement to return to Anfield and the opportunity to add to the £1.3m which was raised in May. He told Liverpool media : “Every time you have the opportunity to get back to Anfield, it's really exciting and for me after a few years since my last participation.
“I'm really looking forward to being back in the stadium, to be back with the fans and it's always very enjoyable and you feel really privileged to have played there. It's great for the charity, always the support is amazing in the city for these kind of actions. I'm pretty sure we are going to help lots of people, and that's the most important thing.”
Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, also said : “It’s fantastic to be hosting our second charity match at Anfield this year, and we are once again looking forward to welcoming the LFC family back to enjoy another fun-filled afternoon of football with some of the greats. After such a great result at Old Trafford in May, we are anticipating a competitive return match for the Legends of the North title."
