Amazon Prime Video’s hit conspiracy series is back, as the group of diverse Nazi hunters return for a second outing. Hunters takes viewers back to the alternate history of 1977 New York City, as a troubled young Jewish man bent on revenge is taken in by a secret group of Nazi hunters.
Together, they fight a clandestine war against high-ranking Nazi officials who are hell-bent on creating a Fourth Reich. The show is loosely based on the fact that many Nazis relocated to the United States following the end of the Second World War – though the events in the ‘alternate history’ series are entirely fictional.
Hunters – created by David Weil and produced by filmmaker Jordan Peele – returns for its second and final season in the new year, and is set two years after the first season’s finale. In it, the now-scattered group of Nazi hunters reassemble upon learning that Adolf Hitler is alive and well, hiding in South America as he plots a Fourth Reich with his wife Eva Braun.

It is set to follow two timelines for its next outing; one centred on the hunters’ pursuit of Hitler in 1979, and one looking back to the hunters’ early days as its leader Meyer Offerman first puts together the group. Among the cast members returning are Logan Lerman as series protagonist Jonah Heidelbaum, a young maths whizz who learns his late grandmother was part of a secret band of Nazi hunters in 1970s America.
Hollywood icon Al Pacino also returns as Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivor and leader of the hunters, Meyer, alongside Lena Olin as The Colonel – who the series finale revealed to be Hitler’s wife Eva Braun. Hunters’ first season proved a big hit for Prime Video, racking up more than 4.5bn minutes of viewing in its first six weeks on the platform, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Following its success, in August 2020 – six months after the show debuted on Prime Video – Amazon ordered a second season, which was confirmed to be its last.
When is Hunters season two released?
All eight episodes of Hunters season two will be available to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video from Friday, January 13.
