When is Barcelona vs Manchester United? Uefa Europa League play-off dates confirmed

The Europa League knockout tie everyone wanted has become a reality as Barcelona and Manchester United have been drawn together in the play-off round.

For just the second time in the competition’s history, the traditional round of 32 has been scrapped in favour of a more streamlined play-off knockout stage, where the Europa League group runners-up are drawn against the Champions League dropouts.

United finished behind Real Sociedad in their Europa League group while Barca finished third behind Bayern Munich and Inter Milan at Europe’s top table.

This match-up has twice been a Champions League final fixture, in which Barca triumphed in both 2009 and 2011, but the prize 12 years on is a place in the Europa League last-16 stage.

When is Barcelona vs Manchester United?

United will travel to the Camp Nou on February 16, 2023, for the first leg of the tie.

The second leg, at Old Trafford, will take place one week later on February 23. Kick-off time for both games is expected to be 8pm GMT.

The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport, with Standard Sport providing live blog coverage on the night.
